Chelsea are set for a £35 million raid on AFC Bournemouth for England new boy Callum Wilson.
The Cherries forward, 26, got the nod from Gareth Southgate on Thursday for up-coming matches against Croatia and the USA.
But it’s not just the Three Lions manager who is keen to take a chance on the lively striker.
Mirror Sport revealed on Tuesday that Wilson is one of a number of options the club are considering.
Now it appears Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri is all set to make a move and add him to their chase for the Premier League title in January.
Wilson has caught the eye after a fantastic start to the season which has seen his club look towards Europe.
His form has put him on the Blues’ radar but Bournemouth are in no hurry to sell.
Southgate told TalkSPORT the striker justifies his England inclusion, saying: “He deserves it on the form he has shown in recent weeks.
“Any top level footballers has to show levels of resilience in their career, and he’s shown that to come back from the set-backs he’s had.
“To play international football you’ve got to have strong characters and we’ll find out whether that’s what Callum’s about that over the next few weeks.
“His team are in good form and he’s been a key part of that.
“He’s a forward who runs in behind defences, harries defenders. He scores important goals and he’s a player we worked with briefly for the under-21s and I think it’s a good opportunity to get a closer look at him."
