Princess Eugenie's Wedding Dress Shows Off Scars from Her Childhood Surgery

Princess Eugenie wore a gorgeous Peter Pilotto gown during her October 12 royal wedding to Jack Brooksbank, and you may have noticed it had a sexy low back—which was said to have been specifically designed to show off her large scar.

Eugenie’s scar is due to the surgery she had at age 12 to correct her scoliosis. The Princess has dedicated a lot of time to raising awareness about the condition, and is even a patron of the hospital that treated her.

Brave Eugenie shows off the scars from her scoliosis operation in her low-backed Peter Pilotto dress. The princess had surgery for the spinal condition when she was 12 and underwent an eight-hour operation to correct it.

“I think you can change the way beauty is,” Eugenie said ahead of her wedding. “And you can show people your scars and I think it’s really special to stand up for that.”

FYI, Eugenie isn’t the only member of the royal family who has a scar. Kate Middleton has a large scar from a childhood surgery on her hairline, and Prince William has a scar on his forehead. Which, by the way, has major Harry Potter vibes. Just sayin’!
