Hyde Park Winter Wonderland to host free day out and activities for families

Families can mark the end of the festive season in style as Hyde Park Winter Wonderland unveils its annual Family Fun Day!

On Sunday 6th January 2019 (the last day the event will run), there will be a bonanza of events and activities aimed specifically at families with children.

Think circus workshops, character meet and greets, magicians, family-friendly shows, face painting and even an epic Santa parade to wave goodbye to Father Christmas before he heads back to the North Pole.

The best part is that the event is completely FREE for families.

There’s quite a lot on throughout the day, so to give you a helping hand we’ve picked out some of the highlights not to miss…

Santa Parade

Christmas is over and it’s time for Santa to head home to the North Pole – but families can help give him a send off to remember!

Kicking off at 5pm, the parade will see Santa leave his grotto, with his helper elves as well as a host of stilt-walkers, jugglers, drummers, and even the Ice King and Queen.

Free face painting

Between 10am through until 7pm, a host of professional make-up artists will be on hand to offer free face painting for children.

Learn circus skills

Throughout the day there will be free Circus Skills workshops as well as Balloon Sculpting sessions for budding entertainers.

Teletubbies meet and greet

The Teletubbies will be hanging out at the Megadome between 12-12.15pm to say hello to kids and tiny tots – and there’s no admission fee.

Missed out? Not to worry – Zippo’s Circus Stars will also be heading out to meet little ones from 4.50pm-5.20pm.

Magic shows

Professor Strange, a loud and lively character magician will be touring the event, performing some pretty incredible interactive magic tricks as he walks about.

Winter Wonderland attractions

Winter Wonderland’s biggest rides and attractions will also be open including the Ice Rink, the Magical Ice Kingdom’s Secret Forest, Peter Pan on Ice, The Snowman Experience and much, much more.

It’s worth noting that if you do want to have a go on Winter Wonderland’s usual rides and attractions such as the ice rink, there are some where you will need to pay for tickets. Prices start from £7 adult / £5 Child / £20 Family / £6 Concession plus booking fee.

You can find out more on the Winter Wonderland website.
