Scarlette Douglas, who is best known for presenting A Place In The Sun, made her Channel 4 debut in 2015. The small-screen star has since dished on ITV favourites Ant McPartlin, 44, and Declan Donnelly, 45, who she credits for aiding her presenting dream.
The 33-year-old has appeared in a vast array of stage performances including The X Factor West End musical.
The TV star soon decided to make the switch from musical theatre to television presenting.
Scarlette revealed that she took part in Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and joined the duo as a dancer on their UK arena tour.
Discussing her move into the world of presenting, the Channel 4 host revealed she also had expertise in property.
Scarlette explained: “I went on tour with Ant and Dec as a backing dancer on their Saturday Night Takeaway show.
“I did their arena tour and it was them that kind of said to me [to do presenting].”
She continued: “We all went out one night and I got the courage to say, ‘Do you mind if I interview you?’
“And they both said, ‘Yes, absolutely come in early tomorrow.’
“So I interviewed them the next day and they were brilliant.”
Scarlette added: “And they said, ‘If this is what you want to do you should focus on it. You should really do it.’ So they got me a few meetings.
“It was their management that gave me a lot of advice and tips.”
The presenter later went back to her agent and applied for a position to host A Place In The Sun.

The holiday property expert explained: “I did my screen test and about 10 days after that I found out that I got the job.
“It was amazing because I’d never done any presenting.”
Scarlett still remains in contact with Ant and Dec.
She said: “I do give my presenting career to them.
“I give it to myself for having the courage to speak to them and ask them, but the fact that they even allowed me to interview them and the fact that they went and told people about me was really lovely.”
Scarlette finished: “It’s something they didn’t have to do. I really appreciate them for that and I’m grateful.”
Meanwhile, A Place In The Sun is celebrating their 21 year anniversary this month.
To mark the big occasion, it will be broadcasting brand new episodes from the sun-kissed coast of West Cyprus, to the coastline of North-West France, to Spain’s Costa del Sol where the team will be travelling far and wide in search for the perfect overseas properties.
Speaking about a possible team celebration, Scarlette gushed: “We’re either in lockdown or we’re all away in different places filming, trying to get the next series up.
“It would be great if we could do a big Zoom call or something and everyone get on.”
A Place In The Sun airs weekdays on Channel 4 at 3pm.
