Cher Lloyd’s dad is ‘seriously unwell’ in hospital for third time since lockdown began

Cher Lloyd has opened up to fans, revealing that her dad is "seriously unwell" in hospital.

The 26 year old shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram on Wednesday night, admitting it is "such a scary time".

This marks the third time the former X Factor star's dad Darren has been hospitalised since lockdown began

She wrote to her 2.1million followers on the social media platform: "Hi everyone, I'm sorry I've been quiet on here — I find it difficult to share my personal news at the best of times but I feel I need to let you know what's going on.

"My dad has been seriously unwell and is in hospital. This has been really difficult on us and my heads all over the place [sic].

"I wish I could see him, and I wish I could be with my family to support them, especially mum.

"We can't be with dad but I'm so grateful to the doctors and nurses for looking after him. This is such a scary time for everyone. I hope you are keeping safe."

She continued to inform fans that she would be handing her social media over to her team so they could be updated on her new single Lost.

Cher is unable to visit her family as she is isolating with her husband Craig Monk and daughter Delilah-Rae, who will turn two later this month.

She opened up on being away from her family, and her dad's previous hospital dashes, in a recent interview.

She told House Of Solo last month: "I miss my mum and dad a lot. Before the lockdown I spent a lot of time with them.

"My dad hasn't been well for a long time and the idea of not being able to be close is a really scary thought.

"He's actually been in hospital twice during the lockdown with his pre-existing conditions and every single time I get the phone call, I ask myself: 'Is this going to be because of his pre-existing condition or is this going to be the call that I'm dreading?'"

The Swagger Jagger singer admitted that waiting for her dad to get better has been the hardest thing about being away from them in lockdown.

She confessed: "I haven't actually told anyone about that. I think that like a lot of us Brits, I tend to keep stuff bottled up.

"Especially me, because I'm always thinking: 'Oh I don't want people to think I’m not strong!'.

"So, that's been super scary and also for my mum, when she calls, I can hear a change in her voice. So, if we can keep him out of hospital until this is all done with that would be amazing! Fingers crossed!"
