It’s no secret that Cheryl Cole is planning a big comeback – and now it’s been claimed that she might have made it even MORE exciting by lining up a huge new career move.
It was reported this week that the singer had been in talks with the producers of hit stage show Chicago to join the cast, having gone to watch the musical at London’s Phoenix Theatre on Wednesday.

Main producer Barry Weissler and his team were also there that evening, according to the Daily Mail, and it was thought that Cheryl, 34, may have had discussions with them about taking the role of Roxie Hart for a limited run.
The character of Roxie – who has an extra-marital affair and then ends up in prison after murdering her lover – has previously been played by stars including Mel B, Denise Van Outen and Renee Zellweger in the film version.
However, a spokesperson for Cheryl has now DENIED the reports and said that she simply went to watch the musical with mates.
‘This is not true, Cheryl is not in talks to join Chicago,’ her rep tells Metro. ‘She just went to see it with friends as she is a fan of the show.’
Doh, just when we were getting excited about seeing Chezza on stage!
This all comes after it was reported that the Girls Aloud star – who has been keeping a low profile since the birth of son Bear last March – won’t be returning to The X Factor panel this year.
She HAS got new music on the way though, with collaborators including BFF Nicola Roberts and producer Naughty Boy dropping hints about her upcoming fifth album in recent months.
With her comeback on the horizon, Cheryl recently revealed that she’s managing to juggle work with being a mum by doing lots of planning.
‘I just plan ahead. It’s planning not to fail,’ she told Hello magazine last month. ‘I’m quite organised when it comes to the baby because I have to be. And if I plan, then I can book in the grandparents.’
Good thinking, Chez.
