Dale Earnhardt Jr. is officially outnumbered.
On Tuesday, the retired NASCAR great and wife Amy announced the birth of their first child, daughter Isla Rose.
“She finally here! @DaleJr and I are officially parents to a beautiful baby girl, Isla Rose Earnhardt. It feels like a dream. The best dream ever. ?,” Amy tweeted.
Proud dad Earnhardt Jr., 43, later added, “Everyone was right. It’s a new beginning. Now everything I do will be for her and Amy. So blessed.”
Baby Isla arrived a day early, as Amy was originally due Wednesday, May 2. Earnhardt. Jr. hoped their daughter would arrive ahead of schedule, three days to be exact, as April 29 is the birth date of his late father, Dale Earnhardt Sr.
“How cool would that be?” Earnhardt Jr. said, per the Charlotte Observer. “I would love that.”
Shortly before giving birth, Amy shared a snap of her christening dress online, along with a touching message.
“My Mom sent me this christening dress yesterday,” Amy posted April 26. “Enclosed was a note that read ‘your great grandmother Wood hand made this for me when I was born. You and your sisters also all wore it : ) ‘ And now my daughter gets to wear it. I’m so grateful she kept this for so many years…and it’s in impeccable condition. ”
Earnhardt Jr. and Amy married in 2016.
