The presenter replied to a tweet from SpursySpursy, the fan who pointed out the blunder.

SpursySpursy tweeted: “Shocking spelling of candles though.”

The message was accompanied with a still image that had “42 Scented Candlles”(sic) written over it as an on-screen caption.

Nick, very shocked, hastily replied: “Did we actually do that or have you doctored it?”

SpursySpursy replied to Nick and said: “Honestly, I just took a photo of my TV.

“It was in the episode with the lovely childminder.

“Great show though Nick.”

Express.co.uk can confirm the spelling error appeared during Episode 3 of Nick Knowles’ Big House Clearout.

Fans were quick to comment on the show’s mishap.

Mikeprshohotmai1 said: “Perhaps they’re Welsh candles!”

Monstermogs1 replied: “That would be canhwyllau.”

In this new series, Nick rescues six families across Britain who are swamped with clutter in their homes.

Each episode, he offers the families a deal, that if they ditch half their clutter, Nick and his team will give their house a makeover.

They strip each house clean and move the belongings to a warehouse, so the families can see the clutter they have accumulated.

Nick is best known for presenting BBC One’s DIY SOS.

The star, however, will not be presenting the Children in Need special of the show.

Rhod Gilbert is stepping in to front the special episode, DIY SOS: The Big Build BBC Children in Need, instead. It comes after Nick was embroiled in controversy over his Shreddies advert.

The row reportedly almost saw Nick lose his job on the show, as he broke BBC guidelines, dressing as a builder in the advert.

The BBC’s editorial guidelines say: “Actors and artists who perform in BBC output should not appear in promotional work, including advertisements, in a way which mimics or replicates their on-air roles for the BBC.”

He will film the BBC show again in the coming months and will be back on screens in 2022.However, Nick will miss the Children In Need charity special because the ad campaign he features in will still be running.

Nick Knowles Big House Clearout is on every Thursday at 8pm.
