Drake supports married ‘ex’ Serena Williams at Wimbledon’s Centre Court… but fans beg him to leave as they claim he ‘jinxes’ her matches

They were rumoured to have enjoyed an on-off secret romance between 2011 and 2015.

And Drake looked proud as he turned up to support Serena Williams during her quarterfinal match at Wimbledon on Tuesday.

The Canadian rapper, 31, couldn’t help but smile as he showed up to another of the icon’s grand slam tennis matches, with the star vying for her 24th single Grand Slam title, and her first since welcoming baby daughter Alexis in September.

Her opponent is 52nd-ranked Camila Giorgi of Italy, who has never taken a set off Williams in their three previous meetings.

Williams is seeking to reclaim the title having been unable to defend her 2016 triumph due to her pregnancy.

However, despite the twitter comments, Serena cruised through to the semi-final, defeating Camila 3-6 6-3, 6-4.

Drake and Serena were first linked back in 2011 when the One Dance hitmaker started attending her matches.

Back in 2011, the rumoured on-again couple were spotted kissing in the clubhouse after her victory against Victoria Azarenka in the Wimbledon quarter finals in July. 

Then the raunchy rapper posted a rather suggestive tweet showing he had a soft spot for the tennis player, writing ‘@serenawilliams I cannot wait to put it on you and make you sweat…… during our match this weekend.’

Then Drake revealed the pair had begun heavily flirting when he name-dropped her on his‘Nothing Was The Same’ track ‘Worst Behaviour’. 

He rapped: ‘I’m with my whole set/Tennis matches at the crib/ I swear I could beat Serena when she playin’ with her left.’

The star then got ’embroiled’ in a spat with Serena’s rapper ex Common via their songs, with Common accusing Drake of being ‘soft’ and the latter firing back with ‘I ain’t no b***h.’

After the feud intensified, the pair settled their differences in 2012, with Common later revealing that Drake’s friendship with Serena sparked their spat.

He said: ‘For me, I think it was an emotional thing,’ he said. ‘Unfortunately the war might have been over a girl, even though at the time I never said that.’   

In 2015 Drake was seen supporting Serena at Wimbledon where she picked up the singles title.

After her win, he took to Instagram with a snap of her entitled ‘Showtime Champ. A big plate for all that food you ate at Wimbledon!’.

The Just Hold On, We’re Going Home singer then became a regular at Serena’s matches around the world, with excitement over a budding romance hitting fever pitch.

The star was then seen at Serena’s US Open semi-final in 2015, where she was on the cusp of winning the most Grand Slams, but she lost, leading fans to slam Drake as the reason for her defeat.
