EastEnders star Laurie Brett marries fiancé in secret ceremony

EastEnders star Laurie Brett has married her fiancé Dennis Longman in secret yesterday.

The actress, best known for playing Jane Beale – tied the knot with her fiance in a low-key ceremony attending by her soap co-stars.

Tamzin Outhwaite, who plays Mel Own in the BBC One show, shared pictures of her pal’s big day on Instagram .

She shared a snap of the newly-weds kissing and captioned it: "Congratulations Laurie and Den".


Laurie was seen with purple flowers in her hair which matched the button-hole worn by her new husband.

Tamzin also added pictures of the "gorgeous wedding flowers" and of her post-wedding breakfast this morning.

Fellow EastEnders star Letitia Dean, who plays Sharon Mitchell, was also there to see Laurie exchange vows with Dennis.

Laurie hasn’t confirmed any details of the ceremony, but she hinted about her plans in a post on Twitter on Thursday.

She wrote: "Roll on the weekend… Have it large.. xx".


It’s the first wedding for the actress, who has a daughter named Erin from a previous relationship.

The youngster was born in June 2011.

Laurie was previously engaged to musician Dave Evans but they split in 2007 before the wedding.

The actress made her first appearance in EastEnders in 2011 as Jane Beale, Ian’s long-suffering wife.

She left in 2012 after the Lucy Beale whodunnit story, but returned in 2017.

Laurie has also appeared in shows including London’s Burning and Waterloo Road.
