Escape To The Chateau’s Dick and Angel share amusing moment they reveal their book to kids

Dick Strawbridge and wife Angel Adoree released A Year at the Chateau in October. And to mark the paperback coming out in April, the Escape To The Chateau couple have uploaded a video of their children’s first reactions to the offering.

The amusing but sweet family moment was caught on camera, with the official Instagram account for the Channel 4 show posting it yesterday.

In view of their 119,000 followers, the family were seen gathering together outside their incredible home.

They had a box with three copies of the book inside, and were excited to show Arthur and Dorothy.

However, Dick was left questioning his youngest son’s knowledge of social media.

While the youngster cheekily referred to his father as the “grumpy one” on numerous occasions.

Reading out the inscription, Arthur said: “To Arthur and Dorothy, you are the reason we do what we do.”

Dick explained: “That’s called the dedication and anybody who buys one of these books will know that we did the book for you.”

His little boy then quipped, pointing at his dad: “Dick and Angela Strawbridge, and also this good-looking guy [himself] and also this grumpy one.”

Angel gushed: “Oh kids, you look so gorgeous,” referring to the front cover.

Dick stated: “See how bright that colour is, that cover is bright.”

A puzzled Arthur questioned: “Wait why does it have a Twitter, Instagram and Facebook?”

Which led Dick to exclaim: “How do you know this stuff? You’re seven!”

The former lieutenant colonel went on to gush about his spouse, who he wed shortly after buying the chateau.

He added: “The thing about he book is, you put a lot of work into it and then you know, this is what we wait for, isn’t it?”

The touching clip was shared with the caption: “To celebrate Dick & Angel’s announcement of A Year At The Chateau in paperback coming on the 15th of April.

“We wanted to look back on this very exciting and sweet moment of the Strawbridges seeing their book for the first time ever!

Fans immediately inundated the comments section, after watching the family grow since Escape To The Chateau first launched in 2016.
