Hollywood star George Clooney and his human rights lawyer wife Amal might be two of the most famous people in the world but that didn’t stop them having a ‘don’t you know who I am?’ moment.
The 57-year-old Oscar winning star and his 40-year-old wife were among the star guests to attend the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle (the now Duke and Duchess of Sussex) on Saturday.
But when it came to arriving at the post-wedding party in the evening, the pair were subject to an uncharacteristically long wait to be let into the grounds.
Police set up a security cordon outside Frogmore House in Windsor where Harry and Meghan entertained guests following their historic marriage.
But onlookers were surprised to see George and Amal held up at the entrance by 10 minutes as police chatted to the pair as they say in an Audi S5.
The couple seemed relaxed as they sat in the car while engaging in conversation with the police that were holding security outside the 17th century mansion.
Eventually allowed through, the couple joined 200 guests including Sir Elton John as the newlyweds celebrated the start of their new lives together away from cameras.
Earlier, George and Amal had stunned fans as they arrived at the Royal Wedding in eye catching outfits.
George and Amal live in nearby Berkshire and have been friends with Harry and Meghan since the human rights lawyer and the former American actress were connected by a mutual friend.
Former ER star George (who has two Oscars to his name, a Best Supporting Actor gong won in 2005 and a Best Picture award won in 2012) and Amal tied-the-knot themselves in 2014 after meeting through friends in Lake Como, and became parents to twins (Ella and Alexander) in 2017.
