Grand jury weighing criminal charges against Weinstein

A Manhattan grand jury is weighing criminal charges against accused serial sex predator Harvey Weinstein, according to a new report.

Subpoenas have been sent out by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office to the disgraced movie mogul’s closest associates, compelling them to either testify or submit documents in lieu of taking the witness stand, The Blast reported Thursday.

Subpoenas were also issued for various records dating as far back as 2004, including phone records, emails and financial documents related to Weinstein, The Weinstein Company and other businesses he owned, the website reported.

Prosecutors are hoping to nail Weinstein on embezzlement charges related to alleged hush-money settlements reached with some of his accusers, sources told The Post in December.

Those allegations include claims by Lucia Evans, then a college student, that Weinstein forced her to perform oral sex on him inside his Tribeca office in 2004, and claims by “Boardwalk Empire” actress Paz de la Huerta that Weinstein raped her on two occasions in 2010.

Weinstein, who reigned as one of the most powerful producers in Hollywood, has been accused of sexually harassing and abusing more than 80 women over the period of decades.

Neither the Manhattan DA’s office nor a rep for Weinstein’s lawyer immediately returned requests for comment.
