H.E.R. & YG Celebrate West Coast Culture In ‘Slide’ Video

H.E.R. has shared a video for “Slide,” her recent collaboration with YG.

The video, directed by Mike Ho and shot in the Bay Area, portrays H.E.R.’s love for her hometown of Vallejo and shows the singers celebrating West Coast culture.

The visual, which features the West Oakland Station and the Grand Lake Theater, also contains footage from the artist’s inaugural Lights on Festival that took place last month in Concord, California.

“Proud to represent my roots being from the Bay Area!” the Grammy award-winning artist told Complex. “I’ve always wanted to ghost ride the whip and it’s the perfect song to get hyphy! Shout out to the best side and YG!”

“I don’t care if we on the run/ Nothin’ matters when we one on one/ Lookin’ at us ’cause we goin’ dumb/ We on the same wave, you the same way/ You know I be down if it’s with you/ Where we goin’? Baby, what’s the move?” sings the R&B star.

“I only come out when the star’s out/ I’m on a mission but we far out/ This city talkin’ with a large mouth/ Yeah they after the boy like fall out,” raps YG.

H.E.R’s debut studio album is expected to hit streaming services and similar platforms sometime in the near future.
