Mel B caused mass hysteria when she claimed the Spice Girls had all scored invited to the royal wedding, going as far as to hint they could even perform at the reception on Saturday.
But it’s now been claimed that only three of the Spiceys have made it to the list, with Victoria Beckham, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell having reportedly got invites, while Mel B and Mel C have been left out in the cold.
“Only Victoria, Emma and Geri were invited, so clearly, the Spice Girls were never going to perform," a source told the New York Post’s Page Six.
Victoria and husband David are already well in with the royals, having attended Prince William and Kate’s wedding in 2011.
Geri also mixes in more aristocratic circles these days following her marriage to Formula One boss Christian Horner.
Asked about the wedding back in February, Mel B told the world her presence was a done deal.
"Yeah, I’m going… I don’t know if I should’ve said that!" she blabbed on US talk show The Real.
"Well us five Spice Girls… why am I so honest?"
And when quizzed about whether they’d be performing, she exclaimed. "This is where I’m just like… I need to go. I’m going to be fired!"
It comes after months of will-they-won’t-they reunion chat, with the girls reuniting earlier this year only for VB to point-blank refuse to tour or record new music.
And perhaps sick of waiting, Mel C has now decided to hit the road solo, securing a six week residency at Boisdale restaurant in London’s Canary Wharf.
Sporty Spice will be performing her band’s hits, as well as her solo stuff, although tickets aren’t cheap with entry level starting at £45 and ranging all the way up to £175.
