Lady Colin Campbell has made a scathing dig at Ruthie Henshall after she opened up on her relationship with Prince Edward on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Lady C, 71, made the remark about Ruthie, 53, one latest episode of I’m A Celebrity's spin off The Daily Drop on Saturday 21 November.

On Friday 20 November’s episode of I’m A Celeb Ruthie revealed to Shane Richie: “You performed in Buckingham Palace, you sang in the gardens, I s*****d in the bedrooms.”

Ruthie described her ex boyfriend Prince Edward, now 56, as a “lovely” man and recalled how Prince Charles once got her “p**sed” on martinis during a stay at Balmoral.

The theatre star also recalled a time when she was forgot her etiquette when meeting the Queen at Windsor.

Ruthie explained: “He invited me to Windsor for the weekend. and, as we’re walking I’m seeing a table outside and there’s people sitting around it.

“I’m looking and thinking: ‘Is that the Queen?’

“And I remembered my dad had said to me that if you ever meet the Queen, he said: ‘You curtsey and call her Mam’.

“I grab her hand like this and forget all about the curtsey! I’m like: ‘Really pleased to meet you’,” she explained while vigorously shaking her campmate Shane’s hand.

As Lady C watched the clip back alongside the show’s host Vick Hope, she was asked on what the etiquette is for meeting the Queen.

She explained: “Well, she should have said: ‘Your Majesty’, curtseyed, then ‘Mam’ thereafter.”

Making a dig at The Crown, Lady C said: “But, it proves that the characterisation that the royal family is being portrayed as in a series that we will not mention the name of is completely inaccurate because, you know, there’s all sorts of nonsense about the Balmoral Test, which has never taken place.”

The Crown has an episode in the fourth series, which was recently released, where the royals subject their guests at their Scottish holiday home to a series of tests to see if they will fit in.

In an episode, Margaret Thatcher is seen failing the Balmoral test as she comes down too early for dinner while Lady Diana passes as her conversation is a hit at the table.

She then took a swipe at Ruthie’s lack of etiquette skills as she continued: “Ruhtie has proven that the royals go out of their way at Balmoral to make their guests feel comfortable.”

Lady C added: “Also, it has to be said, Prince Edward is a really great guy.”

The Daily Drop’s fellow guest Melvin Odoom replied: “I went to Buckingham Palace once and was told I couldn’t take pictures. To find out that Ruthie was flirting with a Royal in there and got busy in there is a really big deal for me.”

To which Lady C said: “That’s because he lived there. He had his own suite of rooms there. They live there, they can do pretty much what they want.”

Ruthie dated Prince Edward for five years in the 1990s before his marriage to Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999.
