They say the apple never falls far from the tree, and that’s never been more apparent than Kate Moss and her daughter Lila Grace’s latest mother-daughter venture.
Both generations of models strutted their stuff on the Fendi catwalk, with Lila, 18, clearly inheriting her mother’s runway genes.
Kim Jones held the show for his first women’s and couture Spring 2021 collection for Fendi during Paris Fashion Week, following his menswear show last week.
Supermodels including Naomi Campbell, Bella Hadid and Cara Delevingne were among those sporting his collection, but being Kim’s close friend and his muse, Kate also agreed to return to the runway for the show.
The 47-year-old wore a floor-length silver satin dress and matching bolero for the show, rocking gigantic grey chandelier earrings and wet look hair.
Meanwhile, her daughter wore a sheer beaded two-layer dress over high-waisted pants and boots, with the same slicked back hair as her mother.
Lila was the first to walk the runway, with her famous mum walking behind her.
Ensuring that the models remained socially distanced, Kate and Lila – who are presuably bubbled up, being mother and daughter – posed in a Perspex box, which were in the shapes of the letters of Fendi.
The models were then able to stand beside the runway as stars like Naomi stomped down the catwalk.
Kate had previously expressed her excitement to wear Kim Jones’ womenswear, for which she was a muse, saying: ‘I always wanted to wear his menswear – and now he’s making womenswear!’
The star modelled the collection in Vogue, and is consulting on accessories for Fendi, with Kim saying Kate has ‘immaculate taste’.
As well as getting to model her friend’s first foray into womenswear, Kate got to join her little girl on the runway, after admitting how emotional she was watching Lila’s catwalk debut for Miu Miu last October.
The Croydon-born fashion icon told Vogue: ‘Yeah, it was so emotional seeing Lila on the runway, it wasn’t emotional I was really nervous for her.
‘I was sitting on the kitchen table and Katie England was there and Rosemary, and other girlfriends, and we were waiting for the show to start on the link, and when she came out we were like [gasp] she’s doing it, she’s doing it! I was so proud.’
Lila began modelling at the age of 16, when she was signed on to her mum’s agency.
She told Allure: ‘I think because I’ve seen it since I was so small it’s always been an interest.
’When I did my first modelling shoot, I was like, “Yeah I enjoyed it. I want to do more.” And I think it’s worked out really well.’
Her first big gig was as the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty, and Lila landed her first magazine cover in 2018 on the front of Dazed – which is owned by her father, Jefferson Hack.
Kate welcomed Lila with Jefferson in 2002, and the exes remain friends.
