She previously vowed to start exercising in a bid to keep her mind healthy, but new magazine can reveal that perhaps the real reason Jacqueline Jossa is on a fitness mission is because she’s eyeing up a spot on Strictly Come Dancing.

After being crowned queen of the jungle in last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, an insider has told new the actress is hoping to bag a spot on this year’s dancing show.

“Jac is secretly trying to shape up ahead of Strictly after telling pals she’s decided to go for it,” an insider told new.

“While she doesn’t want to be skinny and wants to fly the flag for normal women, she wants to tone up. She’s determined to show off her figure and be confident, knowing she’s worked hard to hone her body.”

Just before heading off on holiday with husband Dan Osborne, 29, and daughters Ella, five, and two-year-old Mia, Jacqueline revealed she’d embarked on a diet plan as she explained she wants to keep on top of healthy eating.

Showing off her dinner on Instagram Stories, she suggested she had been working out, telling her followers, “All will be revealed but… just know that I am seriously dead. And now, I’m tucking into some peri-peri salmon with broccoli and honestly, it’s stunning. It’s really stunning.”

The company that has been providing Jac’s meals, The Lions Prep, has told new she’s been following a mixture of its two plans – the Weight Loss plan and the Healthy Balanced Meals plan.

“The Weight Loss plan is on average 350 calories per meal, and the Healthy Balanced Meals plan is 500 calories. Without snacks, the average calories a day is about 1,200,” a spokesman explained.

Her meals include options such as honey and mustard chicken with brown rice, chestnut mushroom and herbs and red Thai turkey steak with potato wedges and caramelised carrots.

The spokesman continued, “The only thing she has asked to avoid is lamb. She is the queen of the jungle so was happy to try everything. We are sending her five days’ worth of meals – two a day and a breakfast.”

It comes after Jac, 27, revealed her plans to start exercising, insisting it was for a healthier lifestyle rather than to lose weight. “Gotta start doing some fitness stuff, purely for the mind, not to get skinnaaaay!!” she wrote on Instagram last month.

And last week she uploaded a snap of herself in workout clothes and captioned it, “Jumping jacs. SEND HELP!”

“Jac wants to feel her best and aims to lose a couple of pounds and tone up, which she says would boost her confidence,” our source said.

And if she gets to take part in Strictly this autumn, our mole added that stepping up her fitness regime would ensure she “could give the show everything she’s got”.

The actress previously hinted she would love to be a contestant in the dancing competition when she asked her Instagram followers what they would like to see her do next. Giving fans some suggestions, she said, “Working YouTube, reality, reality shows, Strictly, whatever.”
