Janette Manrara, 37, has admitted that the subject of having babies has become a “big conversation” between herself and her husband Aljaz Skorjanec, 37, at the moment. The Strictly Come Dancing professional got onto the subject when she revealed that she yearns to pass down her expanding knowledge about mental health and wellbeing to her future children.

Janette explained that although she wants to continue in her dance career until she retires later in life, one of her main dreams is to become a parent.

Opening up about her and Aljaz’s plans, the star said: “I am going to dance until my legs can’t dance anymore, that’s always going to be there.

“But you know, I’m thinking now of starting a family.

“Aljaz and I really want to become parents and this is a big conversation for the two of us.”

She added during a chat with Kevin Guthrie on his Invincible You podcast: “And I feel the more and more I’m learning about wellbeing, the more and more excited I am about becoming a parent.

“Because I can’t wait to be a mum to take my learnings down into my children.”

It comes after Janette shared her and Aljaz’s plans to potentially move to the country when they start their family.

The Strictly pro divulged the dancers’ hopes when she stepped in for Morning Live host Kym Marsh, 44, as she continued to recover following a hernia operation.

While chatting to Wanted: A Simple Life host, Chris Bavin, about the possible move on the BBC show, Janette opened up and revealed her and husband Aljaz’s thoughts.

The programme follows people who want to escape city life and start living in the country.

She said: “Aljaz grew up in Slovenia, which is very, very country – I grew up in Miami and lived in LA, so I’ve always been a city girl.

“But I think we are getting to that point where we want to move out into the country.”

However, Chris was quick to suggest that the couple find a home that isn’t too far from a city, adding that the idea of living in the country is often romanticised.

Janette agreed with the expert and reassured him that they would be taking a practical approach.

“Aljaz and I are so guilty of that.

“We spend so much time falling in love with homes then we have to put them back away,” she went on.

Janette had previously spoken of her concerns about starting a family with Aljaz.

Speaking to Hello! Magazine, she said: “It’s very scary being a dancer, my body is my tool, it’s what I use.

“Aljaz and I, we dance and work and do everything together so if you think about it, when I fall pregnant, that’s 50 per cent of the team gone!”

Despite her worries, the dance pro insisted her and Aljaz are ready for parenthood: “We’re definitely ready to be parents so we will see when that moment comes – you can’t plan it.”

The Strictly couple have been fan favourites on the show for years and have been together for more than a decade.
