Megyn Kelly isn’t completely over her blip with Jane Fonda, more than a year after the actress appeared on her show.
“I certainly wish I hadn’t put on Jane Fonda,” Kelly, 47, told Us Weekly, reflecting on her first year hosting the third hour of “Today.” “That didn’t go well!”
When asked if she would not have brought up plastic surgery, which appeared to infuriate Fonda, Kelly didn’t waver.
“No, she answered that question in about 40 different forums,” Kelly added. “It was nothing wrong with me. I think the issue was somebody who used to work at Fox News was asking it of her that particular day. I know some people don’t like Fox News, and some people don’t like me and that’s OK.”
Kelly continued, “I let her beat up on me repeatedly. She went out there and ripped on me. It’s fine. You have to take your licks as a reporter, as an anchor. And she did it again, and she did it again, and she did it again and I didn’t say anything.”
Elsewhere in the wide-ranging interview, Kelly refused to talk about former “Today” anchor Matt Lauer, who was fired from the network for “inappropriate sexual behavior.”
“I can’t comment on that one,” she said. “I know too much that others don’t.”
As for giving those accused of sexual misconduct second chances, Kelly said, “I feel it’s a case-by-case basis. I don’t think we need to see Harvey Weinstein in polite society ever again.”
