Francesco Belcaro — who owns marketing company Made in Italy — held a party at the Top of the Standard last week, and a guest told us Paolo Zampolli was overheard exclaiming, “The whole world knows I introduced” Donald Trump and Melania.
The story of how the president and first lady first met has been recirculating lately after the New York Times reported Jeffrey Epstein claimed to have introduced the pair.
But, as reported by Page Six, Zampolli blasted the concept as “fake news. B S,” and says he introduced the couple at a Fashion Week party in the ’90s.
Either way, Zampolli told us he was not dining out on the tale: “[The venue] was quite loud. I had my ear plugs. I did not interact with many people.”
Also at the bash was “Dr. Doom” economist Nouriel Roubini, who we hear was telling folks he no longer throws huge parties himself.
“I only do dinner parties now, with maximum of 10 people,” he said.
Roubini was once known for his model-filled-hot-tub bacchanals.
The Made in Italy events continued over the weekend at Southampton hotel Capri.
