Back in 2012, hearts melted at the sight of Sarah Jessica Parker’s adorable twins trudging around New York in adorable matching wellies and brightly-patterned frocks.
But making a rare red carpet appearance with their mum on Thursday, (not-so-little) Tabitha and Marion, eight, are all grown up.
Clearly still fans of co-ordinating, the elegant pair wore floral frocks and matching headbands to attend the New York City Ballet with their 53-year-old mum.
SJP and her husband Matthew Broderick, 56, welcomed their daughters via a surrogate in June 2009 after the Sex And The City actress, who was then 45, struggled to conceive.
“Well, you know, we’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so,” she told Access Hollywood of their decision to take the surrogacy route.
“This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.”
Sharing her fertility struggle, she continued, “Yeah, I mean I couldn’t pretend otherwise… It would be a complicated – it would be odd to have made this choice if I was able to, you know, have successful pregnancies since my son’s birth.”
Her son is 15-year-old James Wilkie, who she allowed to choose the name of one of the twins.
“Marion is this name that James Wilkie chose for whatever reason,” she previously said, hinting that no-one else was a fan.
“The rest of us call her Loretta . . . [James] said, ‘You put that name on the birth certificate. Don’t you just humor me.’"
The twins naturally share a tight bond. So much so that SJP once joked that she fears they could one day unite against her.
"I’m afraid they’re going to plot against me. At the most difficult time they might actually collude," she told the Daily Telegraph.
"I’m serious. I’m actually nervous about it. So I’m thinking there are wonderful schools and other places far away."
