The 6ft1in actor, whose blonde tresses were covered by a black baseball cap, watched on while standing next to Swift’s mother, Andrea.

Alwyn also wore a denim jacket over a white T-shirt.

Swift  showed off her lithe legs in a selection of glitzy, showstopping outfits during the opening night of her Reputation tour.

Her first big show in over two years, she performed to a 60,000 capacity stadium in the Arizona city.

Yet some critics have wondered if Taylor’s popularity is waning a little, given that she has failed to sell out her tour completely.

Rainbow: Starting off in a frilly rainbow dress that fell just to the tops of her thighs, the pop superstar joined her opening acts, Charli XCX and Camila Cabello, on stage

Starting off in a frilly rainbow dress that fell just to the tops of her thighs, Swift joined her opening acts, Charli XCX and Camila Cabello on stage.

She wore black boots and looked like the cheeriest version of herself when she first addressed the audience.

According to the New York Post, Billboard estimated Reputation has already sold more than $240million worth of tickets, which would make it the highest-grossing tour of Taylor’s career, with around $300million in total sales.

Hugs: She wore black boots and looked like the cheeriest version of herself when she first entered the stage, before giving her fellow performers a huge cuddle

All the colours of the rainbow: Taylor put on a very leggy display in her sequin mini dress as she pranced around the stage

Giving it some: The girls all performed Shake It Up with Camila and Charli sharing the stage with the pop superstar

A rainbow effect: The stage was filled with colour and sparkles as the girls performed the huge hit

That’s one way to turn heads: Taylor floated around on a moving platform which had glittering lights surrounding it in an orb

Taylor is set to perform 53 shows in seven countries, in seven months.

However, the fact that she has not completely sold out her tour seems surprising to some, given her previous levels of popularity.

The New York Post writes: ‘She buckled by having Ticketmaster turn off resale ticket listings on its interactive venue charts for the first leg of her North American tour, according to music-industry veterans.

Darker: Things, however, wouldn’t stay so light as the 10-time Grammy winner found a darker place later in the show and came on in a sparkly outfit which upon closer inspection, had a snake print running through it

Stripping down: She later removed some of the outfit to show her sensational figure in all its glory

Reptilian: Taylor was lifted from  the stage in the air by a host of dancers who were draped in snakeskin

Ssss-slippery: Entering with a scaly black hoodie pulled over her head, the singer referenced snakes heavily – as she has done, ever since Kim Kardashian famously used it to describe her

‘The delisting of secondary, or resale, tickets — a move experts called unusual if not unprecedented — makes the inventory of available seats seem much smaller.’

MailOnline has contacted a spokesperson for both Taylor Swift and Ticketmaster for comment.

In a show seemed designed to capture the various personas of Swift, much like she did at the end of the video for Look What You Made Me Do, the singer used her costumes to show many sides of her.

Another ensemble showed off Taylor’s elegant side as she wore a thin, sheer coat atop a sensual one piece. Once again her lithe limbs were on display as she danced across the stage.

All that glitters: Another look had a regal Egyptian theme in black and gold as she put on a sweaty routine

Sway from side to side: Even Taylor’s dance moves, saw her moving around like a snake, with reptilian details embedded in the backdrop

Tailor-made: She gave it her all in front of an impressively intricate stage production, wearing thigh-high boots

Taking to the piano: The first leg of her tour, which began on Tuesday night, will come to an end on June 2 in Chicago

Taylor’s third and possibly most devastating outfit came in the shape of the snake. Entering with a scaly black hoodie pulled over her head, the singer exposed her reptilian side.

She stripped off the shimmering coat to reveal another one-piece ensemble, this one featuring a singular sleeve.

The star added a pair of thigh-high boots and her wavy blonde hair crashed atop her chest. Dancers carried the singer across the stage, grabbing at her legs, and dragging their hands across her torso.

Taylor has embraced the snake symbol, after Kim Kardashian infamously used it to describe her following their much-documented row.

One at a time: Taylor stripped off a shimmering coat to reveal another one-piece ensemble, this one featuring a singular sleeve, which shimmered as she worked the stage

All for the fans: Taylor has paid close attention to detail, with microphones to match each outfit and newspaper confetti which falls down at the end of each show

Sensual: She wore a deep red lipstick and black nail polish as she gave an incredibly charged performance

She also continued her association with the serpent as she took to her Instagram stories on Sunday to reveal a glittering microphone featuring the reptile ‘attacking it’ during rehearsals for her Reputation stadium tour.

She addressed the feud directly from the stage on Tuesday, telling the crowd: ‘A couple of years ago, someone called me a snake on social media and it caught on. And then a lot of people called me a lot of names on social media.’

‘And I went through some really low times for a while because of it. I went through some times when I didn’t know if I was gonna get to do this anymore.’

‘I wanted to send a message to you guys that if someone uses name calling to bully you on social media and even if a lot of people jump on board with it, that doesn’t have to beat you.’

‘It can strengthen you instead.’

Kim and Kanye West famously fell out with Taylor last year over the lyrics in the rapper’s Famous track, in which he referred to the singer as a ‘b***h*’.

After Taylor’s reps issued a statement denying Kanye’s claims that she had approved the line, Kim responded with a tweet on national snake day.

Touchy: Dancers carried the singer across the stage, grabbing at her legs, and dragging their hands across her torso

Changes: It was a night to remember for the superstar who entered the stadium to a literal olive branch from her biggest rival Katy Perry following years of feuding

She can’t get enough of those snakes: A glitzy jacket saw the emblem appearing once again

A warning to Kim? Taylor strapped herself to the skeleton of a snake as she fought against the haters

At the time the snake emoticon had just begun popping up in the comment section of Taylor’s Instagram, following her recent break-up with Scottish DJ Calvin Harris.

Enter Kim, who wrote: ‘Wait it’s legit National Snake Day?!?!?They have holidays for everybody, I mean everything these days!’

Upon arriving at the stadium, Taylor received an apology letter from Katy Perry, and a literal olive branch, which seemed to indicate she was doing her best to put an end to the artists’ Bad Blood.

The This Is Us singer seemed genuinely taken aback and said in the story posted to her Instagram, ‘This means so much to me.’

Ready for it? A further costume change saw Taylor teaming those boots with a flapper-inspired sequin mini

After years of feuding, it seemed like the former superstar friends would never ever get back together, but maybe Everything Has Changed.

The first leg of her tour, which began on Tuesday night, will come to an end on June 2 in Chicago.

From there the concert series will head to Europe for six shows in England and Ireland before returning Stateside.

There are few blank spaces in the trio’s calendar over the coming months, until the show finally reaches its End Game with an Oceania leg, and comes to a close on November 9 in New Zealand.

On Wednesday, Fujifilm instax announced a global partnership with Taylor, which kicked off with the sponsorship of her Global Tour.
