Travelodge is making a big change to its food menu and it sounds seriously lush

Travelodge has revealed it’s making a big change to its food menu, as it unveils a new partnership with food giant Itsu.

The budget hotel chain will be serving up a new range of to-go options for its guests, all from Itsu [grocery] ‘s ‘eat beautiful’ fast food range.

The idea is that guests can opt for healthier, filling options whether they want to tuck into a meal in their room or have food on the go.

The new food offerings from the Itsu [grocery] menu sound pretty delicious too, not to mention they’re also ideal if you’re after low-calorie meals.

The main hot meals include the Satay Udon Noodle Pot (£3.25, 301 calories), or the Katsu Rice Noodle Cup (£2.20, 216 calories).

There’s more good news for those with dietary requirements too as the Satay Udon option is vegan, while the Katsu Rice cup is gluten-free.

Not in the mood for a full meal, but feeling a bit peckish? There’ll be new snacks on offer too including Sweet Chilli Prawn Crackers (£1.25, 97 calories), and Dark Chocolate Mini Rice Cakes (£0.95, 76 calories).

Of course Travelodge is renowned for offering plenty of ongoing deals and discounts , and this new menu is no exception thanks to the meal deal option on offer for £3.95, in which you choose between the Katsu Rice Noodle or Satay Udon Noodle pot, and receive both snack options.

The new menu will initially be rolled out in 36 Non-Bar Café Travelodge hotels; customers will be able to buy them 24 hours a day, not to mention that the chain plans to offer an online order option too.

Karen Broughton, Travelodge Sales & Marketing Director said: "We are delighted to be the first UK hotel brand to partner with itsu [grocery] and bring an exclusive ‘eat beautiful’ range of convenience noodles and snacks to our non- Bar Café hotels.

"This initiative has been introduced on the back of customer feedback and is also another step on our brand transformation programme to deliver an even higher quality and great value experience to customers."

Meanwhile, Georgina Bolton Carter, itsu [grocery] Brand Manager said: "We are thrilled about our new partnership with Travelodge and are so excited to see our Asian-inspired snacks on offer in their hotels all across the UK.

"Guests will now have the chance to enjoy our restaurant-inspired convenient noodles with hand-crafted broths, our delicious sweet chilli prawn crackers and our indulgent dark chocolate mini rice cakes in the comfort of their own rooms.

"The perfect solution for those wanting a quick and convenient meal that’s not only healthy but delicious too!"
