Twenty One Pilots dropped a new holiday single, “Christmas Saves The Year” on Wednesday, December 9.
Twenty One Pilots explained that the song was written and recorded at frontman Tyler Joseph‘s Columbus, Ohio, home studio.
“An original Twenty One Pilots Christmas song written and recorded in Tyler’s home studio. From us to you, Merry Christmas,” the band tweeted.
“Cause everybody wants to make it home this year/Even if the world is crumbling down… You rest assured, Christmas saves the year,” the lyrics in the song go.
Recently, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun had confirmed that they were working on a new album. The new album will be the follow-up to their 2018 record, Trench.
“I’m working on the album,” Joseph had said.
“It really is me and Tyler working on this,” Josh later revealed. “I think it probably takes longer than some artists coming out with albums because we don’t have other people really helping us. And, also, logistically, we’re in different places. We both have our own studios, which is really nice, so he comes up with a lot of stuff at his studio, sends it over to me, and then I come up with some stuff here at my studio and then send it back.”
