At 16 I ditched my girlfriend for her big sister and now I only date cougars… including one who was 26 years older
Jeweller and singer Jason Pearce, 27, of Essex, revealed he has been with one partner who was 26 years his senior – and describes older women as "the holy grail".
He said he prefers older to younger women because "they’re brazen and they know what they want".
“It takes a special sort of fella to keep up with cougars these days," said Jason.
"I meet cougars in clubs, on social media or through dating sites. Instagram and Facebook are places where older ladies like to chat you up – it’s nicer than some dating sites."
He added: "When I do walk down the aisle I am sure I will marry someone older because they are more mature and not as caught up on their Instagram feeds or obsessed with lip fillers."
Jason admits he got the cougar bug after splitting with his first girlfriend in favour of her sister.
"When I was first dating I was young and silly. I was still maturing.
"The girl I broke up with was devastated. She and her older sister had a right set to.
"I just was thinking it's great being a boy but dating the sister made me realise older women and I were more suited."
Jason said dating a 24-year-old when he was 16 was a "real thrill".
"It taught me older women were for me," he recalled. "I realised I liked the fact she was more mature and experienced. We dated for two years.
"Since then I have had short and longer term relationships with 12 older ladies. I tried dating girls my age occasionally but it wasn’t for me. They're needy and too much effort.
"The biggest age gap was 26 years – I was 22, and she was a customer. I could tell she was interested as she kept flirting with me. She was great and very sexually adventurous.
"For both a cougar and the toyboy, it’s an education. She was divorced and had three teenage kids who had left school, and she wanted to get back into clubbing and having fun.
"Our first date was at the Shard, and I took her to France, to nice restaurants and night clubs and bars."
Jason admits that his parents hope he will "grow out of this phase".
"I now have a rule that I don't introduce too many ladies to my mum unless we have dated for six months," he said.
"I am definitely a mummy's boy. She's hoping I will marry someone who can still have kids so she can have grandchildren.
"But ultimately she wants me to be happy."
Jason’s revelations come after Kirsty Gallacher, 42, romped with comic Jack Whitehall, 29, at a celebrity party earlier this month.
He believes that older women have become more empowered after seeing people like Kirsty, Cheryl Tweedy and Melanie Sykes go for younger men.
"The stigma about dating a younger guy has disappeared," Jason said.
"Kirsty has become a real icon for them. Many want to be like her because she is edgy and goes after younger men when she wants them. She doesn’t wait for men to come to her.
"The ladies I meet and date really know what to ask for and how to get it. Don’t get me wrong, I am all for wild sex, but I think many of the older ladies are out to make a statement or impress their friends.
"Many have just got divorced after spending ten or 20 years in boring marriages and are keen to live outside the box and 're-learn' the bedroom – I consider it an honour to help them."
"I have met some cougars at work and others have come up after seeing me perform. I've also met ladies by dating one of their friends. Twice now I've been out with my then-cougar partner and her friend has slipped me her phone number."
"There is a better quality of relationship with older women, and the sex is great. They put the effort in between the sheets, unlike the younger ladies who either just lie there or only put effort in if you have a large bank balance."
He said many of the ladies he's been with have been attracted to him because he was in a band and has a "bad boy" image, while others like the fact he "listens and is polite".
"I never expect the cougar to pay on a night out," he said.
"If she offers, great. I am in it for the relationship."
Despite having only been "rejected" once when he approached an older woman, Jason admitted that most of the time, it's the ladies that dump him.
He said: "I have had relationships lasting six to eight months, while some are just a one-night thing.
"Most of the time it’s the woman who ends it.
"Older women are like the holy grail – sexy, fun and more open to adventure. They're not as uptight as girls in their twenties."
Though it's not always plain sailing, as Jason has been a victim of "cat-fishing".
"I met a lady on Tinder who was 11 years older than me. She looked amazing and we agreed to meet up after I chatted to her online for a week," he recalled.
"I asked her out for dinner and I'd even booked a room as I had travelled two hours to see her. But when she got out of her car at the hotel my heart sank. She looked completely different to to her picture – and not in a good way!"
Currently single, Jason said he would love to date Kirsty Gallacher and reckons they're a "match made in heaven".
He added: "I'm enjoying being single and ready to mingle at the moment, but when I do settle down it will be with an older woman. Cougars are definitely for life, not just for Christmas."
On Sunday EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite, 47, was pictured moving her toyboy, 26, into her home.
Last year we told how cougar Karin Taylor, 58, loves hooking up with men in their 20s and claims she’s the one keeping THEM young.
