I captured the moment my baby bump dropped at 37 weeks – it left people scared for me

BEFORE having kids, we knew exactly how rough the first trimester can be from speaking to friends and family.

But as for the last few weeks of pregnancy, we thought that was when you put your feet up, finished off the nursery and generally enjoyed your last bit of freedom before the baby arrived.

However, TikTok user Karla is just one mum who knows firsthand just how exhausting the end of your pregnancy can be.

At the end of last year, the new mum shared a shocking video of the moment her baby bump "dropped" right before her son was born.

She captioned the clip: "I'm 37 weeks and two days [pregnant].

"I'm so f***ing tired."

The video – which has racked up over 195,000 views – starts with the mum relaxing on the sofa one morning and stroking her bump.

She wrote: "Do you ever just sit and enjoy the bump and then…

"The baby drops."

Karla then cuts to footage of her standing in her bathroom and noticing her bump is now much lower than it was earlier that day.

According to BabyCentre, this is a sign the body is preparing for birth by causing the baby to descend lower into the pelvis.

And just as she was getting used to that, Karla's bump "dropped" again as she was filming.

Prodding the straining skin at the top of her belly, she said: "It feels so empty up there."

Leaning over the sink, Karla added: "It's so exhausting.

"I'm always out of breath."

"This is the first time I've ever seen this and it looks so scary," one horrified viewer replied. "Your organs must be like wtf is happening here?"
