I turned Ikea’s affordable Kallax units into a stylish desk – & people are very impressed with how good it looks

A SAVVY mum has revealed how she turned Ikea's popular Kallax units into a very stylish desk – complete with lots of storage.

Taking to TikTok, the homeowner @elocinhome, revealed how she used two Ikea Trofast light white stained pine frames and placed them in two adjacent corners of her son's bedroom wall.

Then, she cut down an Ekbacken matt beige/patterned laminate worktop which comes in 186cm length, down to 44cm width ways to fit.

Securing it in place on the two frames, she then created the perfect work surface top.

To complete the impressive project, the savvy mum added storage boxes into the gaps of the frames – and voilà!

In total, the project cost just £167 – a fraction of the price of many other desks available on the market.
