ONE supermarket worker has said that customers become irate when faced with this minor inconvenience.
Holly Laing said that customers just cannot wrap their minds around the fact that there is a cap on the amount you can spend when using the contactless card option to pay.
Taking to her TikTok account, Holly said that customers often take it out on the cashier when this option is not available to them.
Posting under the domain @holly_laing, Holly reenacted a conversation she had with a customer, who could not use a contactless card payment option, as her amount was £2 over the limit.
After explaining to the customer that she could not use contactless, the shopper immediately got irritated at the cashier saying "Well great, what am I supposed to do then?"
Holly explained to the customer that she would just have to insert her card, to which the shopper responded "Well I don't know my pin do I."

The cashier then gave the woman the alternative to use cash and she said she didn't have cash either.
The next option Holly gave was to remove the transaction and re-scan everything so there would be two separate payments.
"You have got a lot of stuff, so it would take a while but I can do that," said the cashier, to which the customer responded: "You are being very rude, are you mocking me?"
The cashier responded: "No I'm being serious, I will actually do your whole transaction again, so you can pay two separate payments if that's alright?."

The customer responded furiously and demanded the supermarket worker forget the whole thing.
"Oh forget it. I won't get any of it" said the customer before storming off.
The post has been viewed 372k times and TikTok users have been quick to comment.
"'I don't know my pin.' you should" commented one person.
Another added: "Imagine having to deal with that."
"Who the heck doesn't know their pin?" commented a third.
In related news… I’m a waitress and these are the annoying complaints customers make every day AFTER they’ve eaten their food.
