I’m a curvy girl – being in a bikini is when I feel most insecure, but I know I’m beautiful | The Sun
A YOUNG curvy woman has laid herself bare on her platform by posting a video wearing just a bikini.
It’s a big deal when being a size 8 or below is often upheld as the body shape to aspire to.
Anyone not meeting these expectations is sometimes at risk of attracting body haters, so it takes guts to go public.
But singer/songwriter Lex Gibbon (@lexgibbon) has done it for "the team", her fellow curvy sisters who dread stripping off at beach time.
She wants to normalize curvy women in bikinis.
Londoner Lex's recent post featured her posing on a sunkissed beach wearing a blush pink two-piece over her golden tan.
“You are never alone," she captioned her post.
"We all have days when we feel a little insecure," she continued. "You are f*ckig beautiful."
Lex has experienced self-doubt like the best of us and was disarming in her honesty: “Being in a bikini is when I’m most insecure," she revealed.
This feeling was heightened at the beginning of a holiday when she feared taking those first tentative steps onto a beach.

Those days are long gone and now she feels beautiful in her costume.
But she hoped, by posting a video of herself looking confident in a bikini would encourage other curvy women to do the same.
“If somebody sees me like that, then they won’t feel alone now," she said.
Many of her 67,000 followers were charmed by her post and many more sought solace in her message of body positivity.
“All I see is beauty," was the sweet response of one fan.
For lots of her viewers, Lexi was an inspiration: “So glad there are people like you teaching young girls built like us that it’s okay not to be a size 6. Thank you"
Final word to this admirer: “You are absolutely stunning. It’s normal to feel insecure, your feelings are valid. But never forget that you are beautiful as you.”
