IF YOU are a fan of flowers, you’ve come to the right place.
When it comes to decorating your home with fresh flowers or getting your pots planted in your garden, you’ll most likely have a flower preference.
While some of us may love a bunch of red roses, others might prefer sunflowers, or even daffodils.
According to a gardening expert, it turns out that your favourite flower says a lot about your personality.
Calum Maddock, a gardening expert from Homehow explains that your favourite flower can reveal whether you’re a hopeless romantic, a hard worker, or perhaps a ‘difficult’ friend.
If you want to find out more about yourself, you've come to the right place – as Calum is here to set the record straight on what your favourite flower says about you.

According to Calum, the rose is synonymous with traditional ideas of love, passion, and romance.
He said: “If your favourite flower is a rose, you are undoubtedly a hopeless romantic with a traditional view of love.
“Your idea of showing affection is handwritten poetry and love notes and receiving bouquets for any occasion.

“However, romance isn’t the only thing on a rose fanatics’ mind, as rose fans are also known to bring out the best in their friends and family, as they are naturally kind and loving.”
If you’d rather receive lilies, here’s what this says about your personality.
Calum explained: “If a lily is your favourite flower, then you are a hard worker and are known for always trying your best, as the lily represents purity and clarity.
“In addition, as lilies also symbolise beauty, you are probably best known for always looking well put together while still managing to get all your work done – aka the person who has it all.
“Sometimes mistaken for being a tad uptight, lily lovers are simply well organised and well put together.”
Unfortunately for peony fans, it turns out you might be a bit high-maintenance…
Calum added: “Traditionally symbolising nobility, pride and wealth, peony fans appreciate the finer things in life.

“Peonies are popular plants that only flower for a short period, and this is much like the peony lover.
“Peony lovers enjoy socialising but are known for leaving the party much earlier than anyone else, as they usually have other plans to attend to.
“If the peony is your favourite flower, then you tend to be the high-maintenance friend, who has all eyes on them for the short time you are in attendance but then leaves, normally without saying goodbye.
“You also tend to be the “difficult” friend that is hard to pin down, as you belong to numerous social circles.”
But fear not, it’s good news if you’re a fan of tulips.
Calum said: “Tulip lovers are sleek and sophisticated and are always seen looking their very best.
“As the Victorians often associated tulips with charity and giving, if your favourite flower is a tulip your love language is undoubtedly gifting, as you tend to spoil your loved ones with gifts and affection and appreciate nothing more than receiving a genuinely thoughtful present.”
If you’re big on the national flower of Wales, the daffodil, things are looking positive for you and your personality.
Calum highlighted: “If the daffodil is your favourite flower, then you are an outgoing and vibrant person.
“Fun, energetic, yet also sensitive and caring, daffodil lovers are known for throwing the most extravagant parties and are always considerate enough to ensure every one of their guests are having the best time.”
Sunflowers are synonymous with joy and happiness and according to Calum, you are a positive, bright person.
Calum explained: “Sunflowers represent loyalty and free-spiritedness.
“As sunflowers naturally move to face the sun, if your sunflower is your favourite flower then you are naturally a positive person as you always see the brightness in negative times.
“In addition, sunflower lovers thrive best when spending quality time with friends and family, with people naturally drawing to your positive energy.”.
Many of us would be thrilled to receive an orchid as a gift, and it turns out that if you’re a fan of these, there’s often some confusion about your personality.
Calum continued: “Orchids represent beauty and strength, traits that are typically mirrored in orchid lovers.
“Orchid fans are often mistaken for being vain, as they love nothing more than looking and feeling glamorous and are known for enjoying the finer things in life.
“As orchids may look effortless and strong, they are actually quite sensitive plants, another trait which is mirrored in fans of the plants.
“If the orchid is your top plant, then you may be known for your upfront nature, yet you have a sensitive side and are known for being loyal.”
Often referred to as “the flowers of God,” if you like carnations, it turns out that you’re able to see things clear when times get tough.
Calum reinforced: “Vibrant carnations are classic and attractive flowers that symbolise love, whether it’s romantic or platonic.
“Carnation fans are grounded, laid-back and tend not to get too invested in the little things.

“If you are a carnation lover, you may notice your friends, family or even co-workers tend to turn to you to feel better about stressful situations, as you are able to see things clearly.”
