I’m a Hooters waitress – I’ve heard some really sleazy comments but I’m more offended by a HUGE customer error

A HOOTERS waitress has opened up about the sleazy comments she faces on the job – but she's more offended by a huge customer error.

Leah Fennelly, 23, has worked at one of the Florida restaurants for nearly six years – and she said some men can’t help but make rude remarks when she takes their orders.

The law student said she loves to meet new people every day while wearing a cute uniform, but some customers think her outfit is an invite for unwanted attention.

But she insisted customers are mostly "respectful and nice".

She told the Daily Star: “I’ve gotten the normal comments like 'Are you on the menu?' and 'I want my wings hot and naked like you'.

"You name it, I’ve heard it. I generally tend to laugh it off, but if it is extremely disrespectful.

"When I am being mistreated, which is very rare, I will get a manager to handle the situation."

Leah, who shares her experiences on TikTok, said she hopes she can smash some of the stigma around women who work at Hooters.

Although the sleazy comments can take their toll, she said she's most offended by the misconception that Hooters girls are "dumb".

She said: "The misconceptions people have about girls who work at Hooters is that we are dumb. I have heard it so many times and it sucks.

Last month, the waitress raked in 10.3 million TikTok views after sharing a clip revealing how much money she earns in tips during an eight-hour shift.

In the video, Leah counted out the day’s earnings – an impressive $282 in cash, plus $100 sent via CashApp from one of her regular customers.

It comes after a Hooters worker claimed her colleagues were fired because they didn’t follow the rules imposed by the bosses.

TikToker Jardin May alleged one employee was dismissed because of her hair while another was fired when they refused to remove their piercings.

Hooters are renowned for their "Hooter Girls" – waitresses that wear low-cut tops and shorts to serve food.

There have been several versions of the uniform since the restaurant was founded in Florida in the 1980s.
