I'm a mum and look unrecognisable after covering my face and body in tattoos – trolls say they're ugly but I don't care | The Sun

ALTHOUGH it's not uncommon to have more than one tattoo these days, not everyone goes to the extreme.

But one mum did exactly that and revealed how different she looks after covering her face and body in tattoos.

Amiee Smith has ink almost entirely over her body and has faced harsh comments has a result.

Speaking to the Daily Star, she explained that she sees her tattoos as a way to express herself after getting her first one at just 13-years-old.

Now 23, the model and influencer says she's racked up over 40 tattoos – and looks completely different as a result.

Looking back on an old snap of herself, Amiee says: “It’s odd looking at that photo.

"I had dyed my hair and I was wearing eyeliner which was as far as I had got with my exploring really.

“I wouldn’t say I was bullied at school but I never found my place, I never had a set group of friends I bounced around with. I never found my group if you know what I mean.”

The mum-of-three always loved the look of tattoos and would frequently watch shows like Miami Ink growing up, which inspired her even more.

She said: "I would have been really shocked if someone had shown me a photo of how I am now when I was that age. I would have been so shocked."

Despite having 34.6k followers on Instagram who love her alternative look, not everyone is so kind about the young mum's appearance.

“There were a lot of people saying I had destroyed myself," she revealed.

"I can’t even count the amount of comments of people telling me I was ugly.

“There were a lot of people with different beliefs and they were saying my choice of lifestyle was in line with the Devil and such.

“It’s quite… it does get to you. They were probably the worst comments I’ve had so far, had I made those comments about someone it would have been seen as bullying.

“It was shocking to see the amount of people who thought just because I had tattoos it was OK to make those remarks.
