THE sleek, opulent aesthetic sensibilities of New York's Plaza Hotel are having a viral moment, as Gossip Girl-inspired outfits hit the fashion world and Eloise's holiday specials return to TV.
You don't need to spend a fortune to outfit your home like a luxe hotel suite – just follow one interior expert's guidance.
According to the home experts at Domino, recreating the iconic hotel's look at home is a great way to transition into the next season.
"The on-trend aesthetic is fall’s preppy, crystal-clad, velvet-swathed response to summer’s season of linen slipcovers and blushing color palettes," the pros wrote.
And you don't need to splash out on five-star prices to bring the look home, either. Start in your entryway – or should we say the foyer?
"Set the tone with a laid-back taupe on the walls that evokes quiet glamour and a sense of calm," the design pros said.

If taupe is too boring, you can also go for wallpaper – to get the Plaza look, seek out a thin, elegant stripe. Of course, with either option, you can use red accents to give the room a more playful air.
To make your entryway feel less like a mudroom and more like a hotel lobby, place a delicate side table just inside so guests have an immediate place to put their things.
If you want an extra-special touch when hosting, you can place patterned coasters and "welcome drinks" on a tray on the side table and kick off your party or gathering.
Make use of trays in the bathroom, too, where they'll keep things organized but also add a level of opulence.

A gilded tray or one with metallic accents, like this $18 one from Amazon, is especially lovely. You can stack the Plaza's official soap on a tray for a fun spin on the trend.
"The golden glow from a wiggly mirror and a shining countertop tray give you a place to powder your nose and set your Chanel No. 5 after a spritz," the pros described.
You should also make sure to have plush bathrobes in both the main and guest bathrooms, so it will feel like the spa is just a few floors away.
The easiest way to dress up your entertaining space is with useful, elevated accessories – think colorful napkins, thrifted crystal glasses, and a funky ice bucket.
You can find heavy-duty options at secondhand stores, or score bargains at TJ Maxx and other discount retailers.
Look for small pieces that work with your existing furniture. One or two chic accents in every room, or at every meal, can make a big impact.
"For breakfast (preferably served in bed), coffee is best dressed when poured from a shining French press and into a cup perched primly on a porcelain saucer," the pros described as an example.
Search for inexpensive furniture in luxe fabrics and jewel tones, or to save even more, find velvet throws and tufted pillows to give the visual effect of fancy upholstery.
If all of this isn't "Plazacore" enough, consider spending a little extra on bathroom towels featuring the hotel's logo.
You'll get the most for your money with the hand towels, $20 each, which will leave your guests impressed after they use the facilities.
Let them believe it's a souvenir from your latest getaway – or an interior decor research trip.
