Jill Biden sports tweed blue jacket by designer Alexandra O’Neill on Inauguration Day

Joe Biden inauguration: Barack and Michelle Obama arrive

Jill Biden, 69, marked USA Inauguration Day with husband Joe Biden by starting their day out attending a service at the Cathedral of St.Matthew the Apostle. For the occasion, Jill went for a long-length fitted coat.

Putting safety first, both Jill and Joe Biden wore face masks to the ceremony.

The ceremony is taking place prior to the 59th Presidential Inauguration.

The tweed ocean blue jacket and matching mask is from New York City based up and coming designer Alexandra O’Neill of Markarian.

In a press release, O’Neill explained that underneath the jacket she is wearing a “tapered dress with a chiffon bodice and scalloped skirt.”

She explained the choice of blue was deliberate, and was designed to inspire “trust, confidence, and stability”.

The choice of the jacket may signal Jill Biden’s intention to use her influence to encourage Americans to buy clothing pieces from small businesses.
