With another heat wave on the horizon, you’re probably planning a sunny barbecue in the garden, and what could be better than an ice cold gin and tonic to wash it all down.
Enter Lidl, who today have announced a new ‘Citrus Garden’ gin and posh premium tonics will hit stores on 3 May.
The new gin will be priced at £15.99, and the premium tonics will set you back £1.99 for a set of four, meaning you can get everything you need for a measly £17.98.
Back by popular demand, the Citrus Gin has been made with aromatic botanicals, and has been distilled in copper stills in England. It’s described as having ‘notes of rosehip and hibiscus and top-notes of fresh citrus orange, lemon and bergamot peel’.
The premium tonics come in five flavours, with Indian Tonics and Light available all year round, and limited edition flavours Mediterranean, Elderflower and Aromatic available whilst stocks last.
Lidl’s gin sales have rocketed 41% year on year, with their Hortus range becoming one of their best sellers. The gins have been received well by reviewers and gin fans alike. It’s ‘Original London Dry Gin’ even beat the likes of premium gins Sipsmith and Gordon’s in the Good Housekeeping Institute’s blind taste test.
