Meghan and Harry LATEST – VIP guest to visit Prince on his birthday today as Queen leads Royal tribute

PRINCE Harry is said to be expecting a visit from a very special person today for his birthday – his mother-in-law, Doria Ragland.

Meghan's mum is likely to travel the 90miles from her home in Los Angeles to celebrate with the Duke and Duchess in their £11.2million home.

The first in the Royal Family to send Harry birthday wishes was the Queen.

Using the Royal Family's Instagram page, the Queen and Prince Philip wished the Duke of Sussex a happy birthday.

It was accompanied by a picture of the Queen and Prince Harry taken during a Queen’s Young Leaders reception at Buckingham Palace in 2017.

The Cambridges then tweeted a photo of Harry racing William and Kate with the message: "Wishing a very happy birthday to Prince Harry today".

Harry's dad Prince Charles and Camilla then joined in the well-wishes, writing: "Wishing a very happy birthday to the Duke of Sussex today."

Producers of The Crown said they worked with BEAT, an eating disorder charity, to ensure the portrayal of Diana was accurate.

A spokesman for Left Bank Pictures, which makes The Crown for Netflix, said: “Producers worked closely with the eating disorder charity, BEAT, to ensure that their portrayal of Princess Diana’s bulimia in Season Four was both accurate to the disorder and sensitively handled.”

The Royal Family are believed to be uncomfortable with some of the situations portrayed by The Crown.

Prince William is said to be “livid” over Harry and Meghan's Netflix deal after The Crown's controversial portrayal of Princess Diana, says a TV Insider.

Speaking with the Express they said: “William and other senior royals are incredibly uncomfortable about this drama and livid Harry is now in partnership with the company that’s airing it.

“It’s the latest in a long line of flashpoints between the brothers, but there are few more sensitive subjects than the plight of their mother.

“Viewers of The Crown — which is a candid look at the Queen’s reign — wouldn’t expect the writers to ignore something which is now a matter of public record.

“But the Royal Family also wouldn’t expect one of their own to take money made by the profits of shows like this.”

Meghan Markle is famous for her love of dogs – having affectionately referred to her pooches as "her babies" and even acting as a Royal patron for animal rights charity Mayhew.

In 2017, the Duchess made the heartbreaking decision to leave her pet dog Bogart in Canada when she moved to the UK – shortly before her engagement was announced.

However, she did bring her second dog Guy with her to London – but not long after the move, the Duchess was left “distraught” when he broke both his legs.

According to the Mail, Meghan's pet beagle was involved in an accident not long after she got engaged to Prince Harry and was taken to Supervet star Noel Fitzpatrick for surgery at his practice in Surrey.

Luckily, Guy made a full recovery and is currently living out in LA with the family – along with the couple's new dog who is thought to be called Oz.

Earlier this year, The Sun exclusively revealed that Meghan Markle had left her beloved pet dog Bogart behind in Canada because "he didn't like Prince Harry".

There's no denying Meghan Markle looked every inch a princess at her wedding – right down to her impeccable manicure.

Like plenty of brides-to-be, Meghan spent the days before the wedding having beauty treatments – including going for a facial at Sarah Chapman's luxury Skinesis salon in London.

And it's now been revealed that the Duchess also had a mani-pedi at DryBy nail salon in London's Marylebone.

According to British Vogue, the exclusive nail salon created a bespoke bridal manicure for the Duchess of Sussex – who opted for a gel finish to avoid any chips.

In order to create the perfect chic shade of pink, the nail technician reportedly used one layer of CND's Unmasked and two coats of Negligee on the top of Meghan's fingernails and Cashmere Wrap on her toes.

Prince Harry will celebrate his 36th birthday tomorrow – and if last year is anything to go by, the Duke is in for a real treat.

According to the Express, Meghan Markle went all out for her husband's 35th and set up tents in their garden at Frogmore Cottage as a nod to their first ever trip together back on 2016.

A source said: “Last year, for Harry’s birthday, Meghan recreated their Botswana camping adventures in their backyard.

“It’s a place that means so much to them — and to Harry in particular — so Meghan wanted to bring that happy place to him on his day so she set up a tent, got sleeping bags, cooked dinner and recreated Botswana where they fell in love.”

This year, Prince Harry will celebrate his birthday at the couple's new £11m mansion in Santa Barbara after stepping down as a senior member of the Royal Family in January.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced they were stepping down as senior Royals in January, the couple unveiled their new working plans on their Sussex Royal website.

But according to the new bombshell biography Finding Freedom – which is being serialised in The Times this weekend – this move was “deeply unsettling” to other members of the Royal Family, especially The Queen.

The book claims: “Aides and family members knew the couple wanted to step back, but the website, which laid out the details of their half-in-half-out model as if it were a done deal, put the Queen in a difficult position.”

Shortly after Harry and Meghan announced the news on social media, Buckingham Palace released a short statement confirming the news and recognising their desire to do things “differently”.

“The element of surprise, the blindsiding of the Queen, for the other principals who are all very mindful of this, rightfully, it was deeply unsettling,” the biography claims. “The family is very private and bringing it into the public domain, when they were told not to, hurt the Queen.

“It was laying out what the Sussexes wanted in a statement without consulting with Her Majesty first – and she's the head of the institution.”

When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex celebrated their one-year anniversary, Prince Harry reportedly gave Meghan an eternity ring which paid sweet tribute to their son Archie.

According to Harper’s Bazaar the Prince worked with jewellery designer Lorraine Schwartz to create the ring to mark their first year of marriage.

The bespoke piece incorporated Meghan, Harry and Archie's birthstones.

The publication reports that Meghan's ring has a sapphire and peridot for her and her husband's birthdays on the outside and an emerald for Archie Harrison on the underside of the piece.

A source told the magazine: “Meghan was touched.  A lot of thought went into it.”

In an exhaustive four-page document, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex outlined their stringent rules for any speaking engagement – including that they have the final say in who introduces them.

The couple reportedly signed with The Harry Walker Agency – an exclusive agency that boasts it represents the best in motivational speakers – earlier this year with it thought the couple could charge $1million per speech.

The Telegraph revealed the stipulations issued by Harry, 35 and Meghan, 39, including that the fee must be paid in advance.

The leaked 'Virtual Event Request Form' states: “The choice of Introducer and Moderator will be at the final discretion of the Speaker.

“The Fee will need to be paid directly from the contracting organisation’s account.”

The full audience list must also be provided and whether the couple need to wear “business or casual” attire.

Prince William and Kate Middleton reportedly “rolled out the red carpet” for Meghan Markle when she joined the Royal Family, sources close to the couple have claimed.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the insiders claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge “welcomed Meghan with open arms” and invited her to their Norfolk home Amner Hall – where Kate reportedly cooked vegan meals for her then future sister-in-law.

The insiders hit back at claims made by the co-author of bombshell biography Finding Freedom that Kate “purposefully snubbed” Meghan at the Commonwealth Service in Westminster Abbey in March.

The source said: “It's just completely wrong to suggest they didn't talk and plain wrong to say the Cambridges weren't welcoming.

“How can you say they weren't warm or welcoming when they hosted Meghan for Christmas, invited her into their totally private inner sanctum at Anmer Hall and did everything they could to make her feel at home? They personally cooked her favourite vegan food, they couldn't have been more welcoming.”

Shortly after Megxit was announced in January, Meghan Markle flew back to Canada to be reunited with baby Archie and kept a low profile for a few months.

Although the Duchess was rarely pictured in that time, a royal fan claims to have run into Meghan in a Whole Foods near the £11m mansion where she was staying with Archie and Harry.

Sharing a photo of a woman at the checkout (which they claim to be Meghan) on Instagram, the royal fan said the Duchess approached their friend because she had the same baby carrier for Archie.

Describing her as “down-to-earth”, the caption reads: “Meghan approached her friend who was carrying an ergo baby carrier and said “your baby is so adorable” and mentioned them having the same baby carrier.”

Before she married into the Royal Family, Meghan Markle was best known for her role as Rachel Zane in Suits.

The Duchess of Sussex starred in the hit US legal drama from 2011 until 2018 and recorded over 100 episodes.

And according to the Mirror, the Duchess was paid £37,000 for every episode – which raked up to £333,000 a year.

At the height of her Suits fame, Meghan also charged up to £15,000 for speeches and public appearances – according to royal biographer Andrew Morton.

After Meghan's incredibly powerful UN speech in March 2015 (in which the Duchess said she was “proud to be a woman and a feminist”), the biographer claims that the “chat show” offers and public speaking engagements “started to come in thick and fast”… and she soon began charging £15,000 for every speaking engagement.

Meghan Markle looked slick with a “back-to-business” ponytail as she did her first Zoom call since signing her mega £112m Netflix deal last week, according to a celebrity stylist.

Stylist to the stars Lucas Armitage revealed that the Duchess of Sussex, 39, often sends secret signs with her ever-changing hairstyles in the public eye.

Speaking to Fabulous, Lucas said of Meghan’s tied back ponytail look during her chat with her patronage Smart Works: “We are used to seeing Meghan with a relaxed vibe to her hair, so this slick pony was a change of direction.

“It was also the first time we have seen her since securing a huge deal with Netflix.

“The structure of this style signals a departure from her low-key lockdown hair and to me is conveying that she means business now she has a huge new project to undertake.”

Lucas added that the movement in the pony “artfully arranged over one shoulder”, indicates she still has her “LA sensibility when it comes to styling her tresses.”

Meghan Markle could have followed in the footsteps of Princess Sofia of Sweden and “prevented Megxit”, says a royal expert.

“Like Meghan Markle, Sofia was a commoner and a TV star who fell in love with a dashing Prince”, writes Daniela Elser for in Australia.

The Swedish royal recently featured in a doco called 'Princess Sofia: Project Playground', and was quizzed about whether she would ever consider quitting royal life.

Admitting that she had suffered “many identity crises since becoming a princess”, she replied: “No. Not really.

“I think I have found such a fantastic balance, and I really see it as positive that I have made it through these stormy years.

“It is such a huge advantage, in that we have the opportunity to stand a little in both worlds.”

Daniela writes that, “in short, Sofia toughed it out. Despite those 'stormy years' she has come out the other side and embraced the possibilities her platform provided.”

Meghan Markle hopes the lucrative deal she and Prince Harry clinched with Netflix will land her an Oscar, it's been claimed.

It was confirmed last week that the couple secured a £112million deal with the streaming giant and plan to produce a range of 'inspirational' shows.

Meghan hopes to finally get the Academy Award she's always wanted, a source told The Mail on Sunday.

A long-time friend told the publication: “An Oscar is all Meg has ever wanted. She used to practise her acceptance speech in the mirror with a hairbrush when she was a kid of seven.

“She would also practise her signature in preparation for all the autographs she would give.

“Her absolute dream was to achieve the EGOT – the grand slam of showbusiness – which is winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony award.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex managed to enjoy some much-needed couple time while visiting Australia and New Zealand, reveals a new book.

In royal biography Finding Freedom, journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand write: “In Sydney to take on engagements and host the fourth Invictus Games, Harry and Meghan managed to sneak out for an evening off with Jessica and Ben Mulroney, the latter of whom was covering the Games for Canada's CTV network.

“A real estate billionaire loaned them his home for an intimate and completely secret evening with a five-course meal prepared for a private chef.”

And the couple also had a romantic night together in Fiji at the luxurious Vatuvara Private Island resort, which is on Kaibu Island.

During their stay, Meghan and Harry may have tried their hand at fishing, diving, snorkelling, gold and yoga, which are all on offer at the resort.

After they exchanged their vows at St George's Chapel in May 2018, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle enjoyed a carriage ride round Windsor to see the crowds of royal fans.

A new biography has claimed Prince Harry was rather uncomfortable during their 25-minute ride.

The authors said: “Sitting down in the carriage beside his bride, Harry laughed that his trousers were 'too tight.'”

Meghan has claimed her Royal Wedding made Britain £1billion in tourism cash, bombshell court papers have revealed.

The Duchess of Sussex, 38, believes the money raised from the wedding at Windsor Castle in May 2018 “far outweighed” the contribution stumped up by the taxpayer towards security.

Meghan’s legal team have also said the royal wedding was “not, in fact, publicly funded, but rather personally financed by HRH The Prince of Wales”.

In a submission made by her team, it added: “Any public costs incurred for the wedding were solely for security and crowd control to protect members of the public, as deemed necessary by Thames Valley Police and the Metropolitan Police.”

The revelations were revealed in legal papers filed in the ongoing case between Meghan Markle and Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over an article in The Mail On Sunday which reproduced parts of a handwritten note she had sent to her father Thomas Markle in August 2018.

One year ago, charity Smart Works announced the launch of the Smart Set Capsule Collection with the Duchess of Sussex.

It was inspired by Meghan Markle's “firsthand insights from her many visits to Smart Works, where she noticed that while donations were plentiful, they weren’t always the right choices or sizes,” the charity says.

To celebrate the first anniversary, she spoke to several previous clients to see how their lives were transformed.

After listening to their stories, Meghan said: “People can say that so much of Smart Works is about the clothes themselves but it’s really not… all of that stuff is the exterior but it’s what it does for you on the inside that ends up being the best accessory.

“It’s the confidence – it’s what is built within, that is the piece that you walk out of that room with and walk into the interview with.”

Prince Harry has hopes for son Archie to play rugby league.

During a recent video call with Rugby Football League reps, the Duke of Sussex said: “I am just unbelievably fortunate and grateful to have outdoor space and see my son be able to be outside.

“I know so many people just haven’t had that opportunity in the last five months.

“What I need is a few mini rugby balls [so] I can then get Archie involved with the game because at the moment it’s impossible to find any [in America].

“But, I’ve got a little bit of space outside which we’re fortunate enough to have, so I need to get him playing some rugby league.”

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's list of strict demands for their speaking events has been leaked.

After the couple reportedly signed with The Harry Walker Agency stipulations issued by Harry, 35 and Meghan, 39, included that the fee must be paid in advance, reports the Telegraph.

The choice of Introducer and Moderator is at their “final discretion”.

Plus, the full audience list must also be provided, along with advice on whether the couple need to wear “business or casual” attire.

Meghan Markle has showcased her love of her new American home with an “I love you California” print in her plush Santa Barbara mansion.

The Duchess of Sussex recently joined clients from her charity Smart Works for a Zoom call.

And eagle-eyed fans may have spotted a rather telling piece of artwork in the background.

Taking pride of place above her mantelpiece was a print of a bear holding the state of California in its paws, printed with the words “I love you California.”

The words refer to the state’s official anthem which was published in 1913, and later adopted by California 1951 and confirmed in 1987 as the sunshine state’s official song.

Meghan Markle has pitched a documentary about a Black Lives Matter founder as part of her mega £112million Netflix deal, a source has claimed.

The proposed show will be about Patrisse Cullors, one of the three co-founders of the BLM movement.

A source told the Mirror: “Meghan has been blown away by the incredible work Patrisse has done.

“She thinks her story needs to be told – and she would love to be the one to make it.”

Patrisse, 36, started the movement back in 2013 with Alicia Garza and Opal Tometi in response to the acquittal of George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

Meghan Markle took a secret poke at the Royal family during her wedding speech, according to a new book on her and Prince Harry.

Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand write in biography, Finding Freedom, that Meghan told those at the celebration she hadn’t spoken out in public prior to the huge ceremony.

The book points out that her revelation was a “first for a royal bride, the move reinforced the idea that this American was no typical duchess.

“'You could literally hear a pin drop', said a close confidant, who described the speech as a momentous occasion even for the Americans, the book adds.

“'For her to have been quiet for as long as she had, and then have this really safe space where she could give these heartfelt remarks, it was a really special moment', the source said.
