OAMC has teamed up with Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation in an effort to fight racism. Luke Meier is offering a two-piece capsule emblazoned with evocative messages of “Justice” and “Equality,” mirroring a billboard campaign in Milan, Italy. OAMC’s press release notes that it hopes to “eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by the state and vigilantes by combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy.”
Featured are a vintage U.S. military surplus M-65 liner and a T-shirt with anti-racism slogans printed in bold. Overdyed in black, the liner is constructed with nylon and sports three tonal buttons at the central closure. The piece is horizontally quilted and displays the words “BLACK LIVES MATTER” on the bottom left corner of the front — much of the back is taken up by a large “EQUALITY AND JUSTICE” print. The same motifs are repeated on the T-shirt. All proceeds from the capsule will be going to the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation.
