It’s hard to believe that a shoe as futuristic-looking as Reebok‘s Instapump Fury first released in 1994, but the Steven Smith-designed masterpiece is still going strong 26 years later — and its newest colorway is a bold “Proud Pink.” Featuring white-hot lightning prints and special graphic details, the “Proud Pink” is not for the faint of heart, much like the silhouette it’s presented on.
Uppers may start in black on the heel, but waste little time dousing the midfoot and toebox in an astral lightning print. Above a swirling purple background, bold lightning bolts crash through the shoe’s upper, culminating in a blinding white toebox and toe cap. A special pink Reebok character that looks like a cross between a lightning bold and a tornado graces the heel, even sporting its own pint-sized pair of Instapump Furys.
Pump fit systems are done up in white as well, with touches of pink appearing on heel and tongue tabs. Hybrid character and Instapump Fury branding alike hit the insoles, while down below the two-piece white midsole is held together by a carbon fiber midfoot shank. DMX cushioning loaded in the heel offers a finishing touch of comfort.
The Reebok Instapump Fury “Proud Pink” is available now at retailers like Sneakersnstuff, with a MSRP of $190 USD.
Moving from ‘Bok to Balenciaga, the ever-popular Triple-S has been revived in a familiar “Grey/Yellow” colorway.
