SECRET LETTER
Here's what the Duchess of Cambridge has written inside the hidden books…
Dear Finder,
The Hold Still book documents a photography project which captured a portrait of our nation as we lived through the first COVID-19 lockdown last year.
The images tell the stories of the challenges we all faced, but also how we came together in the most extraordinary of times.
I am proud to have worked closely with the National Portrait Gallery on this project, and am thrilled that the Book Fairies across the country are returning the images to the communities at the heart of Hold Still.
Once you have finished looking through the book, please leave it somewhere else in your community for the next person to enjoy.
With very best wishes,
Catherine

ROYAL RIFT
Prince Harry and his dad Prince Charles have a “hell of a lot of bad blood” between them, claims a royal expert.
The Duke of Sussex dealt Charles “as low a blow” as possible with comments during his chat with Oprah Winfrey about Charles being “trapped” in the royal family, says Duncan Larcombe.
The royal expert told Fabulous: “When it comes to Prince Charles, Harry was clearly attacking his own father.
“There is a hell of a lot of bad blood between Charles and Harry and you can kind of understand it.
“Prince Charles has been waiting to become King since the age of four, and it reaches the point when it is going to be in the not-too-distant future that his job will finally start.”

MEGHAN WAS 'PROTECTED BY PALACE'
Meghan Markle's senior aide says she was protected "extensively" by the Palace despite her bombshell Oprah Winfrey claims.
The Duchess of Sussex repeatedly slammed Palace aides in the explosive tell-all chat – claiming they "failed to protect her".
She also sensationally said they were "not willing to tell the truth to protect herself and Prince Harry".
But the couple's former press secretary Jason Knauf appeared to reject her claims in official court documents.
He also said he "repeatedly" spoke to Meghan's estranged dad Thomas Markle.

HARRY ‘WANTED TO ROCK THE BOAT’ WITH OPRAH INTERVIEW
Prince Harry “wanted to rock the boat” with his Oprah Winfrey interview, a royal author claims.
Ingrid Seward said the Duke of Sussex “knew what he was doing” when he and Meghan Markle did the televised tell-all chat, but he “doesn’t regret it for one minute”.
Seward told Page Six: “He knew what he was doing. I can swear to you that, and he wanted to rock that boat.
“Quite why, I don’t understand, but he did want to. And then he did, and I don’t think he’s surprised by the repercussions or that he regrets it for a moment.”

BOOK'S SECRET MESSAGE
A royal expert is claiming Meghan’s new book shows Prince Harry is upset after being stripped of his military titles.
The Duchess of Sussex’ new children’s book, titled ‘The Bench’, features an illustration of a soldier, with ginger hair, who holds his little boy.
Phil Dampier, author of Royally Suited: Harry and Meghan In Their Own Words, told Fabulous that Meghan is using the book to highlight how sad Harry is to lose his military titles.
He explained: “The illustration of a red-haired soldier (obviously you know who) hugging his little boy, looks as though he has come home from war after many years and pulls at the heart-strings.
“Meghan is probably showing how much the Army meant to Harry and how upset he is to lose his military titles.”

MEG AND HARRY 'SHOW DISTANCE' WITH ARCHIE PIC
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry shared a rare snap of their son Archie as they celebrated his second birthday yesterday.
However, royal fans hoping to catch a glimpse of the two-year-old’s face were in for a disappointment as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex chose to photograph him from behind.
This is in stark contrast to the typically smiley, face-on snaps we expect from the Cambridges.
Just last week Kate Middlton shared a gorgeous new photo of her daughter Princess Charlotte, beaming at the camera to mark her sixth birthday.
The differing styles says a lot about the Cambridges and the Sussexes’ parenting style, according to body language expert Judi James.
Speaking to Fabulous Digital, she claims that Meghan and Harry are demonstrating their protectiveness over their son, while Kate and William have a more relaxed take.

MEGHAN WAS PROTECTED ‘EXTENSIVELY’
Meghan Markle’s senior aide says she WAS protected “extensively” by the Palace despite her bombshell Oprah Winfrey claims.
The Duchess of Sussex repeatedly slammed Palace aides in the explosive tell-all chat – claiming they “failed to protect her”.
But the couple’s former press secretary Jason Knauf appeared to reject her claims in official court documents.
He also said he “repeatedly” spoke to Meghan’s estranged dad Thomas Markle.
The aide, who now works for Prince William and Kate Middleton, also made “significant efforts over many months” to protect Thomas Markle, it was said.
The documents say this was carried out “in addition to the steps that were regularly taken to object to coverage of the Duchess herself, where this was perceived to be unfair or untrue”.

KATE HAILS ‘POWER OF PHOTOGRAPHY’ AT BOOK LAUNCH
The Duchess of Cambridge has hailed the “power of photography” as she launched the book of her landmark project to capture images of life under lockdown.
Kate said the 100 photographs taken by the public and featured in Hold Still: A Portrait Of Our Nation In 2020, left her feeling she had “lived through the experience” of the people in the pictures.
In a touching gesture she played fairy godmother to readers in the capital and left a copy of her book in Kensington Palace gardens to be found – one of 150 “hidden” by Hold Still judges and photographers across the country.
The duchess launched her Hold Still project in May last year with the National Portrait Gallery to encourage the public to pick up a camera or smartphone and capture the “spirit of the nation” during the pandemic

FAMILY REUNION
Harry and Charles had an awkward reunion during Prince Philip’s funeral last month.
Harry had claimed his father and brother Prince William were “trapped” in the Royal Family during his interview with Oprah. He also claimed Charles had used palace staff to carry out his parental responsibilities and that he had been cut off financially.
Charles was said to be “devastated”, “despairing” and “deeply saddened” by Harry’s comments in the interview.
Things got worse when Gayle King, the host of CBS’s This Morning TV show and a friend of the Sussexes, revealed on air that calls between Harry and Charles had been “unproductive”.
The relationship between father and son had previously been extremely close, with Harry telling the BBC on the 20th anniversary of his mother Diana’s death: “He was there for us; he was the one out of two left and he tried to do his best and to make sure we were protected and looked after.”

MEG AND HARRY BLAMED STAFF WHEN THEY DIDN’T GET THEIR WAY
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry “blamed staff when they didn’t get their way”, a palace insider has claimed.
The couple’s relationship with Harry‘s father Prince Charles soured after they left the Royal Family and moved to North America.
An insider said Harry, 36, was frustrated and felt let down as he tried to speak to Charles, 72, and the Queen face-to-face about his decision to leave, only to be stopped by Royal aides.
The source told the Telegraph that Harry and Meghan, 39, often “blamed the staff” when things didn’t go their way.
The source also said: “[Charles] ploughed money into the wedding and into Frogmore [the couple’s Windsor home] and did his utmost to make them feel financially supported but then when they said they were upping sticks, he had less and less inclination to take calls.”

HARRY ‘MUST HAVE KNOWN PEOPLE’ TO HELP MEGHAN
Royal commentator Seward, also the editor-in-chief of Majesty Magazine, said she finds it “difficult to understand” Meghan’s claims about not receiving help for her mental health.
“What she was trying to tell us there? You don’t go to the HR department in the UK,” she said.
“You go and see a doctor, or you say to your husband, ‘Darling, I feel dreadful, I need you to find someone’.
“Harry was in therapy himself, so he must have known people.”

MEGHAN’S ADORABLE NICKNAME FOR ARCHIE
Harry and Meghan’s son Archie might not have a royal title, but that hasn’t stopped Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, from giving him an adorable nickname.
The affectionate name for the seventh in line to the throne was heard during Prince Harry and Meghan’s last royal tour of Africa in 2019, OK magazine reported.
One of their engagements was meeting Nobel Peace Prize winner Desmond Tutu and his family.
As Archie was introduced to Desmond’s daughter Thandeka Tutu Gxashe his Mum was heard lovingly referring to him as ‘Bubba’.
As they greeted Thandeka, Meghan could be heard encouraging her son to smile, saying: “Say hello, hello, hi. Oh Bubba!”
