Alesha Dixon has used this hero skin cream for so many years that it ‘feels like family’

If you haven’t already heard, Alesha Dixon is our newest OK! Beauty Edit celebrity collaborator – and we’re more than a little bit excited to have her on board. The star has curated a special selection of her favourite products (shop the selection for £45 here), to save us having to scour the internet this month for good beauty buys.

Now, in a special Instagram Live with Alesha, we’ve managed to get some extra beauty tips from the star on how she looks so healthy and glowy all of the time. We’re also a tad relieved to find out that she does face some very real beauty problems too. She tells us she was awake at 2am and 5am this morning with her two-year-old daughter Anaya – not that it shows on her skin at all.

Fancy knowing how Alesha uses the contents of her Beauty Edit to give herself an inner and outer glow? Read on…

Start from the inside out

Alesha says: “We want to make sure beauty starts from the inside. There are so many things that challenge and work against us so anything you can do as an additional top up I’d recommend doing. You have to look at supplements like the icing on the cake”

“Am I this teetotal wellness person? Absolutely not, I’m like everyone else and have good days and bad days. My good days are when I’m taking care of myself. Self care is so important, and taking even a small part of your day for you is important. I feel really passionate about it. Health is wealth!”

Alesha recommends: NobleBlu Beauty Supplements

Turn to eye gels to reduce puffiness

Alesha says: “Everybody knows that no matter how much you take care of yourself, if you don’t get enough sleep your eyes look tired. Eye gels are great because in the morning you just pop them on while you’re pottering. It’s kind of fashionable these days.”

“My two year old had me up at two in the morning and again at five this morning. When that happens you know it’s going to be a hard day. Whack on some eye gels and get yourself a really good beauty light!”

Alesha recommends: Alumier MD Eye Rescue Pads

Take time to properly prep your skin

Alesha says: “If you’ve got the time in your day, massage your face. I think it’s a nice ritual, getting into skincare. The older I get, the more I take the time to wash my face properly and do my night oils, serums and a mask. My skincare regime is so much better now.”

“I work with lots of different makeup artists, but my main one, Francesca, takes so much time to prep my skin. All the rollers and masks she uses, my face always has more of a glow when it’s prepped properly.”

Alesha recommends: Avant Skincare Pro-Radiance Brightening Eye Final Touch and Murad Vita-C Triple Exfoliating Facial

Always keep an Eight Hour Cream to hand

Alesha says: “I’ve used Arden’s Eight Hour cream for years and years, to the point where it feels like part of the family. There's one next to my bed, in my handbag, downstairs. If I don’t have it on my lips it feels very weird.”

“If I haven’t had a pedi or a manicure, I always pop it on my cuticles to make them look better. I’ve used it on my hair before. Having naturally curly hair, I use edge tamers. If I need a little something I just use Elizabeth Arden.”

Splash out on a moisturiser

Alesha says: “I'm not one of those girls who indulges in shoes and handbags but I will spend money on face creams. You can tell the difference with a good moisturiser.”

“It feels like a crime against shopping but I don’t have the patience to go out and shop, so I tend not to. But I WILL go out of my way to find a good moisturiser.”

Alesha recommends: Able Skincare Prestige Anti-Ageing Retexturising and Resurfacing Duo Moisturiser

Pull your look together with a neutral lip

Alesha says: “I’m wearing one today. I outline my lips with a chocolate shade then put the neutral lipstick in the centre of my lips and finish with a dab of gloss for a natural and healthy look!”

Alesha recommends: Emolyn Lipstick (her shade is Mozambique). She also preps her lips overnight with Dr Paw Paw’s Overnight Lip Mask

You can find these products and more in Alesha’s OK! Beauty Edit here. The box costs £45 but is worth a whopping £350. As with all of our celebrity Beauty Edits, we only have a limited number available to buy, so shop one fast if you want Alesha’s favourites at a bargain price.
