I’ve met a gorgeous woman online but she keeps asking me to send her money

DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE met a gorgeous Filipino woman online.

We’ve been regularly messaging each other for the past 18 months and I feel very strongly towards her.

I was due to go out to the Philippines last summer but because of the pandemic we delayed our meeting until travel is safer.

We plan to spend three weeks together in luxury hotels rather than stay with her family, as we wouldn’t get much privacy.

She is very loving and regularly calls me but she has started to ask me for money to pay for our holiday accommodation.

I have sent her £200 already but she keeps asking for more.

I am reluctant until I can make firmer travel plans, although she is quite insistent and I’m worried our relationship isn’t genuine.

I am a divorced man of 56 while she is 31 with a five-year-old son.

I know I sound naive but I want to believe in this.
