Man spends £50k on lipo to enhance abs and shows off dramatic transformation

A Brazilian model has shared before and after snaps after spending R$300,000 (£50,000) on Lipo HD to transform his abs.

Israel Cassol, 40, said he decided to get the procedure done after he was diagnosed with andropause – known as the 'male menopause'.

This is when men experience a decrease in their testosterone levels as they get older.

Israel, who has appeared on the front cover Playboy in the Swedish edition, says he was struggling with his weight and low self-esteem.

He revealed the invitation to pose for Playboy came to him after he decided to speak openly about the subject and gained international prominence.

"I was focused on defining my body naturally, but with andropause, I went through a testosterone decline that caused not only weight gain, but also loss of libido and depression," he said.

These symptoms are known to be common in men over 35 who suffer from andropause.

Israel added: “I cried several times, because I didn't like to see myself in the mirror and I had moments of giving up on living."

HD lipo, or VASER, is a new ultrasound liposuction procedure.

Just like with regular lipo, HD removes fat strategically from some places in the body, to show off the natural structure beneath, however it uses a device that liquefies the fat cells before removing them from the body.

The surgeon also applies tumescent fluid to the area, which helps break down the fat even more and to sedate the location.

Israel admitted he struggled with his painful recovery after the operation.

"I felt a lot of pain and there were sleepless nights, but it was worth it," he said.

He says he often gets backlash about his operation, but he doesn't care as it's made him happy.

“I got a lot of criticism about the money spent, but there's nothing better than investing in yourself," he said.

"I did it and would do it again because today I'm happy with life and with my self-esteem up there."

To upkeep his new abs, Israel says he maintains a balanced diet, as well as regular workouts.
