With temperatures continuing to drop and winter just around the corner, many are searching for ways to stay warm at home without seeing their energy bills drastically increase.
Martin Lewis, 50, is known for providing tips and tricks to help with the cost of living and in his latest episode of Martin Lewis Money Show Live on ITV he's shared a simple hack which could help people save up to £100 off their energy bill.
The MoneySavingExpert founder urged people to check the "flow temperature" of their boiler, as this is the temperature your boiler heats up water before sending it to your radiators.
Martin said the ideal temperature is 60C, but many are set much higher.
He explained: "You normally want it to be around 60° but most peoples boilers are set higher – that’s really inefficient. You can turn this down, it won’t affect the heat in your house, it’ll still be the same temperature.
"It won’t affect your hot water temperature – it might take slightly longer to get up to the maximum temperature. But it can cut £100 a year off your bill and is well worth everyone doing.”
He added: “This is an absolute no-brainer and everyone with a combi boiler should be trying this.”
His co-host, Angellica Bell, then shared a success story from one person who had changed the temperature on their boiler and saw huge savings.

She said: "His boiler had a high temp of 85° – he now has a boiler flow temperature of 60° which works just as well and saves money."
If you are uncertain of how to change the temperature on your boiler, Martin recommends heading to MoneySavingBoilerChallenge.com for guidance.
He also recommended viewers to check their thermostat and turn it down by 1C if they are able to, as this could help shave around 10% off your heating bill.
Martin said: “The World Health Organisation says 18° is fine for healthy adults. Younger, older or ill, you might need more.
“It’s not for me to tell you what to do but I’d like you to try reducing one degree. So say you’re at 21°, try reducing to 20°.“
The financial guru also urged people to claim free water-saving devices, which are available on the Save Water Save Money website, and use their curtains tactfully throughout the colder months to keep costs down.
