Mum makes budget New Year’s Eve box for kids to keep them entertained all year

Mums are now making special gifts for their kids to open on New Year's Eve and it'll keep them entertained all year round.

The "gift of time" boxes can be made if you're strapped for cash and it seems like a nice way to start 2022.

Inside the boxes are envelopes labelled up with each month of the year, from January to December.

The pouches contain a piece of paper, which includes a poem about a fun activity the family will enjoy that month.

In snaps shared on the Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas group on Facebook, one mum did vouchers for day trips and a movie night.

The tokens can also be used for penny arcade machines and mountain hikes.

In the Facebook post, the mum said: "Start a new tradition with the 'Gift of Time New Year's Eve Box.'

"It contains a year full of quality time activities to do with the kids, one for each month, it's all about spending precious time."

Many other parents thought the idea of making a New Year's Eve box for their kids was great.
