My husband enjoyed watching porn while I went through my miscarriage alone

DEAR DEIDRE: WHILE I was going through a miscarriage, my husband was watching pornography on our laptop. He’s had a porn addiction before.

I am 37 and he is 40. We have had three miscarriages and I knew this fourth pregnancy didn’t feel right.

I took a taxi to the hospital while my sister babysat our four-year-old until my husband could get home.

I lost the baby and was distraught. But my sister couldn’t leave her own kids for long to allow my husband to come into the hospital.

When I got home, I was searching online for a number for our GP and realised my husband had been looking at pornography.

I work in IT and could see when he last visited the site. It was while I was miscarrying.

DEIDRE SAYS: I am sorry to hear you lost another pregnancy.

It is distressing to know your husband indulged in his addiction while you were at your worst.

But like any addiction, it filled an emotional void. In his case, he felt helpless and pornography was his escape.
