DEAR DEIDRE: I’VE been self-isolating after testing positive for the coronavirus while in lockdown with my girlfriend, but she has been making things a nightmare.
She is 28, I’m 27 and she’s always been quite volatile but since we found out about my test, she’s been crying and screaming every day about how it’s “ruined” her life.

Her view is that I should have given her the choice to leave before my test as she never wanted to look after me. I’ve been pretty poorly.
We’ve talked about marriage but now I don’t know if she’s serious about me because she won’t even bring me a sandwich or a cup of tea.
I’m in the spare room, but every meal time she seems to leave the flat and I have to do it myself.
DEIDRE SAYS: She’s being overly dramatic and proving herself not to be the best of nurses, but it could be that she’s terrified of catching Covid-19 herself – or she’s really worried about losing you?
Maybe she’s lost somebody close to her before and you being poorly has brought up bad memories for her.
When you’re on the mend and it’s safe to do so, talk to her about why she wasn’t there for you when you needed her support. If her reasons don’t stack up, then accept her heart’s not in your relationship or that she’s simply not the one for you.
