NeNe Leakes Gives Update on Husband's Cancer Battle: 'So Far, Gregg Is Doing Great!'

Nene also thanks her costars — including Kim Zolciak — for their support.

The day after revealing her husband, Gregg Leakes, has been battling cancer, NeNe Leakes gave an optimistic update to her followers.

The "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star returned to Instagram on Thursday to reveal that his "cancer was removed" after a visit to MD Anderson Cancer Center, before asking her fans for advice and giving thanks to some of her reality show co-stars.

"We have been so overwhelmed with the outpouring of love, support, thoughtfulness & prayers," she posted in a note between doctor’s visits. "Some of you have educated us on cleanses, diets & holistic healthcare. We wouldn’t know some of these things if it wasn’t for the reach we have been blessed to have. So far, Gregg is doing great! He feels good with the exception of not being able to eat a lot. The cancer was removed! Now we have to decide whether we do chemo or not? Would you?"

In a second slide, she also sent a special thank you to past and present co-stars, "for sending gifts, love and just good ole words of encouragement." She went on to specifically call out Cynthia Bailey, Kandi Burruss, Marlo Hampton, Porsha Williams, Kenya Moore, Phaedra Parks, Eva Marcille, Shamea Morton, Lisa Wu and, "yes," even Kim Zolciak.

"We hope you all know that this really means a lot," she added.

The update comes after she shared a photo of Gregg inside a doctor’s office on Wednesday, with the caption, "Our New Normal and the fight begins?? #fuckcancer????????#mdandersoncancercenter #yougotthis #iloveyou." A rep for the couple had no additional statement at the time.

In May, Leakes revealed Gregg had been in the hospital for 15 days, before canceling a number of her appearances.

"Today marks the 15th day straight that Gregg has been in the hospital," she said at the time. "I find it very difficult to stand on stage and laugh and have a good time and give you guys your money’s worth knowing that my husband is in the hospital not feeling well. He has said to me over and over again, ‘Go on, go out there, have a good time, do the show, I’m going to be fine.’ But I find it mentally very hard for me to do that."
