Pippa Middleton and James Matthews are officially parents. The happy couple welcomed their first child, a boy, on Monday afternoon, People reports, at around 1:58 p.m. London time. The baby boy weighed 8 lbs., 9 oz., and Middleton's rep told the outlet, "Everyone is delighted, and mother and baby are doing well." Middleton reportedly gave birth at the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital in the Paddington neighborhood of London, the same place where her older sister, Kate Middleton, has welcomed Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis in recent years.
George, Charlotte, and Louis's newest cousin, and their first first cousin, arrived only hours after Kensington Palace confirmed that they'll be meeting yet another first cousin — from their Uncle Harry and Aunt Meghan Markle — sometime in Spring 2019.
Middleton and Matthews first casually confirmed they were expecting in June in the middle of Pippa's fitness column, not long after they celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 20. "When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant, I realized I needed to adjust my normal 4 to 5 day a week routine and find a way of continuing my exercise safely throughout the three trimesters," she wrote. "I've noticed my body change and weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports I feel that it's being strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth, and recovery."
Rumors that Middleton and Matthews were expecting a baby cropped up in April, overlapping just slightly with Kate's own, third pregnancy. However, Pippa Middleton waited several weeks after Prince Louis arrived, on April 23, to confirm her own pregnancy, and she was among the first to visit her sister and the newborn back home at the palace the very next day.
