Presley Gerber responds to backlash over ‘misunderstood’ face tattoo

Presley Gerber is the latest young star to get a bold face tattoo.

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber‘s son, 20, went to celebrity tattoo artist JonBoy to get the word “misunderstood” permanently inked on his right cheek — and there were plenty of critics of both the placement and the message.

“Are face tats becoming an in’ thing? Sweet Jesus. The only thing misunderstood is that tattoo. You just ruined your canvas,” one person commented on his Instagram post revealing the new tattoo. “Are you really that misunderstood? Having all the money at your disposal is never a good thing in life. You must be so bored,” another wrote. A third compared him to Jared Leto’s “Suicide Squad” Joker, and plenty more wondered what Crawford might think of the ink.

On Saturday, Gerber took to Instagram Live to address the haters directly. “If I thought this was going to ruin my face or I didn’t want this, I wouldn’t have done it. I think that’s a pretty obvious thing,” he declared.

He also invited people to meet him in person to share their critiques. “It says misunderstood, because that’s how I felt my entire life,” he added.

“His parents love it, by the way,” Gerber’s girlfriend interjected.

Gerber grew increasingly upset about the negative comments and questions as they flooded in. “Look at these f—king haters out here,” he said. “F—k you if you don’t like it.”

This is hardly Gerber’s first tattoo; he have multiple designs on his neck and fingers, a marijuana leaf inked on his hand and his sister Kaia’s name written in cursive on the back of his arm.
